In 1942, Italian watchmakers were instructed to design and produce a watch specifically for the navy to use on U-Boat submarines. The project was ultimately abandoned, but the designs for these innovative, substantial sports watches remained.  Moving forward to recent times, U-boat was established to put these classic watch designs into limited production.  These U-Boat timepieces were an instant hit, with celebrities, such as Sylvester Stallone and Olympic swimmer Alexandre Despatie wearing the wristwatches in films and for personal use.  Bold and distinctive, with styles that include the U-Boat Classico, The U-Boat Rattrapante, and the U-Boat Flightdeck Chronograph, these timepieces are also extremely comfortable to wear.

U-Boat watches are not only unique in size and appearance, but also for placing the crown on the left-hand side of the case. This detail ensures comfort for the wearer, despite the extremely large size of the watch.  U-Boat prides itself on making each watch by hand, and only in quantities of 999 per style. The entire production process is supervised on a day-to-day level by Italo Fontana, the owner of the brand itself.
