Over the hundred year of its operation the world renowned leader in manufacturing the finest watches, Rolex has played a pivotal role in shaping history as we know it today. Supporting a large number of sporting events around the globe, Rolex has aided the development of many world class players who have in turn added new chapters in the history of achievement. In the United States Rolex has been partnering the golfing bodies for creating several celebrated golfing tournaments for over two decades now. Partnering the American Junior Golfers Association from 1985 onwards till now, Rolex has assisted this illustrious golfing body in creating a number of junior golfing tournaments. The core idea behind creating junior tournaments is to hone the skills of young golfers and shape them for the world of professional golf in the years ahead. Apart from merely holding events, the exceptional players are given scholarships for pursuing higher education at renowned universities, in order to facilitate the process of all round development. On July the 6th, the American Junior Golfers Association concluded its flagship tournament known as the Tournament of Champions at the Dalhousie Golf Club.
The final round of the Tournament of Champions turned out to be a riveting match between the skilled golfers T.J. Vogel, Byeong-hun An and Gavin Hall. Spectators anxiously awaited the winner of this nail-biting finish and bore witness to some spectacular shots by the players who were desperately trying to outperform each other and claim the title. A total of 114 players from 30 different states of America and six foreign countries had come to compete in the par-72, 7,282 yards golf course. The 2009 edition of the Tournament of Champions marked the 32nd anniversary of this eminent golfing challenge. The closely fought battle turned out to one of the most remarkable final matches of the tournament and stunned spectators with the highly improved level of gameplay. This match was T.J. Vogel’s last match as a junior golfer and would end his stint in the junior golfing world. The incredibly talented golfer T.J. Vogel was playing his last AJGA tournament, before he moves away to University of Southern California in the fall this year.

The last part of the playoff was marked by heavy rain and even though the golfers were pelted by the drops of water they still continued to play remarkably well. Ending the closely fought battle with an 18 foot eagle down the slope in a perfect shot, T .J. Vogel shot the ball in to the hole. Leaving the other two skilled competitors behind with a delicate shot that carried forward to the golf hole at perfect speed, T.J. Vogel ended the game and the people finally had their champion. The lad from Cooper City, Florida finally clinched his first AJGA golfing title in his last playoff’s before he moves on to professional tournaments. The crowd of spectators burst into waves of cheer cheering the determination of the talented young golfer T.J. Vogel.
Supporting the tournament as its principal partner, Rolex was once again witness to the creation of history.
