His companion in the car Kevin Roush, Upland (California) completes the rookie team of the season. They are racing their way to the upcoming season in the car sponsored by Marquis Jet, IPC Systems and Total Lubricants. From the looks of it the team looked very promising and has more or less lived up to the expectations. But at the end of the day its Rolex Grand-Am Sports Car Series and only the best and the toughest can survive.
Bryce Miller is a well known race driver who has one Rolex Series GT team championship once and won many class victories too. He even has a podium finish in the Rolex 24 At Daytona to prove his talent and achievements. Coming from a family where his father Paul Miller himself has been a successful driver in 1980s and a team owner too, Bryce has a lot of expectations riding on his shoulders.
Miller Barrett Racing team also has the experience of Eric Barrett to help them in their endeavors. Eric Barrett has been a race car mechanic for 23 years and was with Paul Miller with his Trans-Am team and has been a team manger for a long time. Bryce Miller has in fact won more than 60 International Karting Federations races under Eric Barrett’s coaching.
With such great partners on the Miller Barrett Racing team there are certain levels of expectations which Bryce Miller and Kevin Roush will have to live up to.
In their races so far in the Rolex Grand-Am Sports Car Series 2009 they have been able to demonstrate amply that they are going to be a real threat to other teams. Taking each race as importantly as one can they are turning out to be great team with a very strong chance for a shot at the Rolex Grand-Am Sports Car Series 2010.
The team is likely to showcase same enthusiasm and efforts at the Miller Motorsports Park this weekend. The track at the Miller Motorsports Park is one of the toughest and strangest of them all but Miller Barrett Racing team is confident of doing great there too. Kevin Roush is especially very excited about the opportunity as he has driven on the Park many times including couple of 1000 km long Rolex races.

As a spectator racing around the circuit in a continuous loop seems quite easy however, this sport requires tremendous skill, focus and the strength to withstand almost unbearable conditions. To increase their chances of winning and with the constant state of development of the Daytona Prototype racing cars the top speeds have reached incredible new levels. The surge in speed consequently means an increase in the overall temperature of the car. Nowadays the racers do not just have to keep in their purview the competition, control over speed and the wheel but also be prepared to face the sauna like conditions in the cockpit of the racing car. The 850 horsepower engine of the car produces a lot of heat and most of it finds its way into the cabin. Many racers have to be taken to the Daytona Medical Center to get a dose of intravenous fluids in order to replenish their body systems. All the Daytona Prototype cars have engines placed on the rear while most of these cars are fitted with front mounted radiators that cause the extremely hot air to move directly towards the cockpits. However a few rule changes have led to the radiators moving to the sides of the cars. Even though this has led to a drastic reduction of temperature in the cockpit of the Daytona Prototype a few more changes still have to be incorporate in to the system.
The temperature reading inside the cabin of Michael Shank Racing Riley-Ford had reached an unbelievable 116 degrees that equals the temperature of the Mojave Desert. The natural process of development and evolution calls for the lowering of the temperatures inside the cabin and measures have to be taken to introduce air conditioning to allow the racers to focus on the race and not be bothered by the sweltering heat.
