Tony Shalhoub And Rolex GMT Master II; Masters Of Their Fields

Tony Shalhoub

Knowing what it takes to be a master of one’s field and having the perseverance to put in all the hard work to be a master is a very rare combination to be found. Not for Rolex though. When Hans started off almost a century ago he gave birth to an idea that has all along withstood the test of time quite successfully. Rolex brought in new features and newer technologies to change the way people looked at their watches. It ensured that each of the watches that it will make would be able to do justice to the name and the brand that it had built for itself. It virtually became the benchmark against which not only people but also the other watch maker judge their offerings. The same strengths and heritage was reflected in the GMT Master II, another top of the line timepiece from the house of Rolex. It has been made with the very best of craftsmanship, using latest technology and given stunning looks too. It in fact is true to its name and is a real master of its field.

In the competitive world of showbiz Tony Shalhoub is one name that can claim to be treated as a master. Born in Wisconsin, Tony started acting quite early in life through roles in plays. Taking acting seriously he went on to earn a Master degree from Yale School of Drama. He has done many memorable roles on television and films. He is well known for movies like Gattaca, Men in Black I and II, The Siege, Paulie and Spy Kids. His biggest claim to fame has been the TV series Monk, where he plays the title role and is a writer and Executive Producer too. Continuing his record straight he has been again nominated for Emmy Award 2009 for his role in Monk.

Rolex GMT Master II

Just like Tony Shalhoub shows that he is like a master on the screen similarly Rolex GMT Master II ensures that it comes across as a master in the world of watches. This watch is not only hugely impressive but also widely popular. The reason for that is a combination of numerous as well as unique features. To being with the self winding watch is a certified chronometer. It comes in 40mm size and features Sapphire crystal. The watch looks stunning due the fact that it is made in steel and has a black dial. The dial is surrounded by a black ceramic and rotatable bezel. The watch has an Oysterlock bracelet which features Oysterclasp with Easylink. All this make the watch truly worthy of all the praise it gets from all quarters. Moreover, it comes with a unique feature whereby it has a 24-hour hand and another 12-hour hand which can be adjusted independently. The advantage of this facility is that you can adjust the 12-hour hand to show the time for any other time zone. This ensures that with a single watch you can simultaneously check the time for two different time zones. Taking it further up on the chart of popularity is the fact that the watch is water resistant to the depths of 100m. When all these features combine what you get is a master performance from the Rolex GMT Master II something which Tony Shalhoub does through his roles.

Rob Lowe And Rolex Air King; Rob-bing Attention

Rob Lowe

Rolex has always enjoyed attention no matter whose wrist it has fancied itself on. Rolex can not only hold your attention but has always successfully grabbed attention for so long that it has compelled people to spend just that extra and get for themselves an experience of a lifetime and a watch to be passed on for generations to come. Air King is a Rolex offering that robs attention wherever it goes and wherever it is displayed. Like Rob Lowe even if the watch tries to keep a low profile what it ultimately succeeds in doing is only creating for itself a larger fan base with more to come.

Born in Virginia Lowe shifted to California with his mother and brother after his parents’ divorce. Lowe also happens to have lost hearing in his right ear because of a viral attack in infancy. Lowe was also credited with bringing the show Brothers & Sisters’ highest ratings in all the seasons that it had been on television. Rob’s next release Invention of Lying is slated for a September 2009 release.

The Air King is one of a kind. What may look like a classic clean interface for a watch is actually styled in that particular manner to serve a basic purpose-functionality. With its simple design that not only spells professionalism but also introduces and element of undying tradition the Rolex Air King sure is a winner. The Air King is an Oyster Perpetual variety of the Rolex watches and is a certified chronometer that is certified by COSC or the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute. The dial is only 34 mm in radius but packs in a punch with its stark whiteness. The bezel of the Air King is unique; it has an engine turned with raised hour marks and is extremely efficient in marking time. The Oyster featuring Oysterclasp bracelet and the classic watch is stylized in the traditional steel that most Rolex watches have come to be defined by. The Air King is crystallized in sapphire and is waterproof to 100 meters. The Air King is also available in steel and 18ct white gold finish. Rob Lowe combines good looks and suave charm in a way very few people can and like the Rolex Air King robs attention wherever he goes.

Jeff Goldblum And Rolex GMT Master II; Mad Geniuses

Jeff Goldblum

Mad geniuses have a way of endearing themselves to people around them because their efforts at understanding the small things in life are not cruel madness, but a passion that is infective. Goldblum is known for the ‘slightly different’ characters that he has always chosen to play. Neither the quintessential Hollywood hero nor the sinister baddie, Goldblum has carved a space out for himself that is best defined only by him and his fans. The GMT Master II like Goldblum is not a typical Rolex watch. It may come from the same stable but what makes it distinct from the other models is the fact that despite its quirks the GMT Master like its name suggests commands authority. The Rolex brand maybe called a mad genius because its attention to detail is so thorough that it might be referred to as maddening. Goldblum and the Rolex GMT Master are intense performers because they have a passion to add their little flavor of eccentricity to whatever they do and whoever they meet.

Goldblum studied acting at the Neighborhood Playhouse making his Broadway debut in The Two Gentleman of Verona. His onscreen debut was in Death Wish, a Charles Bronson film. He was next cast in California Split, Special Delivery, Nashville in the following years. He was finally cast in Annie Hall in ’77 and went on to do Between the Lines the same year. Goldblum played the lead in The Fly, he was the other man who visited the alien spaceship with Will Smith in Independence Day. Goldblum reached a different level of popularity with his roles in Jurassic Park and The Lost World. A despondent man with a devil may care attitude in Spielberg’s films; the character even with his disaffected stance captivated the Jurassic Park fans.

Rolex GMT Master II

Jeff played character roles in The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and films that went on to become cult cinema-Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the Eighth Dimension and Igby Goes Down. Jeff who taught acting directed a short film Little Surprises that was nominated for an Oscar in ’96.

Jeff founded a theater company called The Fire Dept. in 2006; a Company that he believes will bring a fresh lease of life into theatre. The theatre company looks at creating new work along with revisiting old favorites for theatre buffs. Goldblum plays the German entertaining ringmaster to an assortment of varied people who share a common holocaust victim past, in this year’s Adam Resurrected.

The GMT Master II is a watch whose little quirks and details go into making it the superlative chronometer that it is. The watch has a 24 hour hand that comes with an independently adjustable 12 hour hand. This enables the wearer to check time in two different zones simultaneously. The dial of the GMT Master II is 40 mm in radius and a classic black in color. The steel and yellow gold watch has the ability to transform the personality of its wearer. The bezel is a special black rotatable one that is carved in ceramic. The GMT Master II is a self wound watch and waterproof to 330 feet. The Rolex GMT Master II and Jeff Goldblum are mad geniuses who have surpassed the tags of eccentricity and shared their passion with others to let the world know that they may be mad but they are geniuses nevertheless.

Dustin Hoffman And Rolex GMT Master II; Timeless Heroes

Dustin Hoffman

Heroes like time are forever and if it is Dustin Hoffman that we are talking about here then such heroes illuminate our lives only once in a lifetime’s experience. Rolex was launched to cater to people who respected time for not only its value but the fact that once it passed it never comes back. Rolex made sure that the good times of your life were captured in timeless seconds and Hoffman’s performances are a few of those beautiful moments that you would always want to last forever.

Hoffman began acting at the Pasadena Playhouse and soon shifted to New York, where he started doing odd jobs all the while he was doing small roles on television. In 1960 Hoffman joined the renowned Actor’s Studio making a successful start in the off Broadway production of Eh? in 1966.

Hoffman continued teaching at night schools while directing community theater productions. Dustin landed his much famous role of Benjamin Braddock in the Graduate in ’66. He received an Academy Award nomination for the role. The same year a role in a Broadway production won him the Drama Desk Award. Soon after his role in the film Midnight Cowboy won him his second Academy nomination. Lenny filmed in 1974 was his claim to a third Oscar nomination.

Two brilliant stars Hoffman and Meryl Streep were cast to deliver performances that catapulted their fame in Kramer vs. Kramer. The much elusive Academy award finally caught up with him for this role. Hoffman’s fifth nomination came for Tootsie where he dressed as a woman to land a role. Hoffman received a Tony Award for playing the lead in Miller’s Death of a Salesman in 1985, a role that also won him a Golden Globe too.

Hoffman fans best remember him for his brilliant act as an autistic man in Rain Man alongside Tom Cruise. Predictably, he won his second Oscar for the role. In the 90’s Hoffman played Captain Hook in Spielberg’s Hook earning a Golden Globe nomination. It was later in the decade that Hoffman got seriously involved in the filming of American Buffalo, winning another Oscar nomination for Wag The Dog the same time. Dustin got a chance to act alongside Gene Hackman in Runaway Jury and a favorite actor of his Andy Garcia in The Lost City. Hoffman also did the voice over for Kung Fu Panda sharing a great rapport with co-star Jack Black. Hoffman was also nominated for a Golden Globe award for playing Harvey Shine in Last Chance Harvey.

Rolex GMT-Master II

The actor is a political liberal and has long supported the Democratic Party. Married to attorney Lisa Gottsegen and father to children and grandchildren who have had their bar mitzvahs, the actor has decided to be a practicing Jew now that he is getting older.

The GMT Master is a hero amongst Rolex watches because besides offering a timeless experience to its wearer the watch also comes with an independent 12 hour hand so you can keep a tab on a second time zone. The watch is extremely accessible to the user as it is self wound and is also waterproof to 100 meters. However, it is the design of the watch that arrests your attention the most. It is a brilliant combination of steel and yellow gold and the rotatable bezel in black offsets the black dial against it very effectively. The watch thrusts a heroic ability into its wearer for him to always want to make things good around him. The chunky 40 mm dial commands respect and the GMT Master knows that like Dustin Hoffman a stellar performance goes a long way in gaining that respect from people.

John Grisham And The Rolex GMT Master II; Masters Of Success

John Grisham“Somewhere, inside, in the dark, the firm is listening” if that line from John Grisham’s best seller doesn’t catch you cold, wonder what else would. Grisham has touted much fame both critically and commercially and he does it most economically because the Grisham effect doesn’t need a lot of words to get you going. The Rolex GMT Master has an effect akin to Grisham’s with the steely grit that the watch exhibits. The GMT Master does with very little what an ostentatious display of time could never do for other watches. It hurls Rolex to a stupendous commercial victory.

Grisham drew the inspiration for his first novel from a real life crime using his spare time from work to write pages. He spent an exhaustive three years, perfecting the debut novel A Time to Kill and finally finished it in 1987. The book was published the following year by when Grisham had already begun researching for his second novel The Firm. He had chosen a topic closest to his heart writing the story of a young attorney. The Firm was an instant success and became the year’s seventh best selling novel. No other writer has constantly churned out commercial successes like Grisham has. The Firm was made into a film starring Tom Cruise and so was his next venture The Pelican Brief which released in 1992. Two more books followed, The Client being published in 1993 and The Chamber next year. It was Grisham’s brains behind the extremely soulful rendition of a brotherly relationship in his novel The Rainmaker that went on to the big screen with stalwarts Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise immortalizing Grisham’s characters. Grisham has belted out more best sellers since then coming out with one every year and some of the more popular ones are The Testament, The Partner, The King of Torts and the most recently The Associate and Ford County that released in 2009. A film based on The Associate is due for release in 2012.

Rolex GMT Master IIGrisham returned to the courts in 1996 after a long break, and the brilliant lawyer successfully argued his client’s case. Grisham also serves on the Board of Director’s for the Innocence Project. John also has a room named after him in the Mississippi State University Library and has also been the founding publisher of the Oxford American magazine. Grisham’s favorite author as he confessed on a show is John le Carre.

Grisham was elected as a Democrat to the Mississippi House of Representatives and later in 2007 he showed his support for Hillary Clinton as a US Presidential candidate.

Rolex is a brand that has instant recall value because of the towering success that it has attained for itself. However, that kind of phenomenal success is hard earned and has years of toil and endeavor behind it. Rolex carries its commercial achievements with an amazing lightness, and one of its much sought models is the GMT Master II. The watch is a master in every sense of the word because the superlative chronometer has a 24 hour hand and an adjustable 12-hour hand that allows the wearer to check times in two time zones. The black ceramic bezel is rotatable and the sapphire crystallization teams with an oyster lock featuring easylink. The watch is self winding and is also water proof up to 330 feet. Rolex GMT Master II and Grisham are recognized names because they know that nothing smells better than commerce and they pursue its working legally.
