The team will kick start its 2010 season with the Rolex 24 At Daytona endurance race with drivers Paul Menard, Antonio Garcia and Buddy Rice as part of the lineup. The Rolex 24 At Daytona season is only getting more and more competitive by the second with teams trying to get their hands on the best racing talent available on the tracks. All the teams are not only finalizing their lineup but are also fine tuning their cars and engines to be able to make it successfully through the toughest endurance race in the United States.

Buddy Rice and Antonio Garcia mark their return to the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series as full time drivers for the 2010 season. The duo would be seen behind the wheel of the No. 90 Spirit of Daytona Porsche-based V8 Coyote. The duo will try its best to recreate the history that they made when they became the Rolex 24 At Daytona champions in 2009. Team Owner Troy Flis is confident about the lineup he has put together for the current season as he states that having Paul Menard back with Spirit of Daytona has added to the chances of his team shining on the tracks. Rolex 24 At Daytona is not only a test of the participating drivers skill but also is an endurance test of the stability of the chassis. The endurance race puts the team’s coordination and ability to perform under pressure to the ultimate test.

Rolex 24 At Daytona

Paul Menard has always come through for team Spirit of Daytona in the past and Troy Flis expects the same determination and performance from the racer this year as well. Paul Menard has recently completed his third season in NASCAR’s Sprint Cup Series behind the wheel of the no. 98 Menards Ford Fusion for the team Yates Racing. Paul Menard has also showcased his racing skills in the NASCAR Nationwide Series while competing in a total of sixteen races in 2009. He intends to repeat his successful performance once again in 2010 by taking the wheel of the no. 90 Spirit of Daytona car which is scheduled to compete in the classic Menard yellow livery. James Walker Eager To Debut At Rolex 24 At Daytona

James Walker

The single-seater racer from Great Britian, James Walker is eagerly looking forward to making his debut in the Rolex 24 At Daytona to be held January 30-31 in 2010. James Walker is extremely excited about his first brush with the Daytona International Speedway, and rightly so, as the young single-seater racer will be competing with the best racing talent in the world. James Walker is all geared up to get his first taste of the Daytona International Speedway with the Roar Before the Rolex 24 which is scheduled to take place in less than a fortnight. Since the off-season for the single-seater races is quite long, this is an excellent opportunity for the Briton to try a different car game altogether.

James Walker will race in one of the toughest endurance races of all time in the GT class along with team J Lowe Racing. He would be accompanied behind the wheel by Porsche factory driver Patrick Pilet, Jim Pace, Porsche specialist and his manager Tim Sugden, as well as the team owner Jim Lowe. Being part of team J Lowe, James Walker will gain great insight to the racing competition as it is very different from the style of racing he is accustomed to. This would be the first time the Briton would get a chance to race in America and he is absolutely ecstatic about the opportunity. The greatest challenge for James Walker would be to be patient as though the pace of the race is fast and furious; however, the aim would be to make it through the 24 hours successfully.

Rolex

The most alluring aspect of racing in the Rolex 24 At Daytona for James Walker is the fact that he would get to share track space with ex-F1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya and the current NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson. James Walker is well aware of the difference of racing technique he would have to adapt to and is going to make the most of the three days of test racing at the Roar Before the Rolex 24. He stated that he would use the three days of test racing to get a good grip of the car which is very different from the cars he is accustomed to.

James Walker would be under the careful watch of his manager Tim Sugden who would also be giving him company behind the wheel as part of J Lowe Racing’s lineup. Tim Sugden is looking forward to race along with the Briton as it was he who taught James Walker to drive. Tim Sugden already has a few pointers for his ex-student, which includes the fact that he would have to keep a close watch on the mirrors as each lap would be witness to someone trying to over-take the others. He would also have to learn to cope with the different speeds of the cars in different classes as well as take a lesson in how to relax. Since the race goes on for 24 hours he would also have to learn to simply switch off in between and catch power naps to be able to get back to the track with the same enthusiasm and adrenalin. The Rolex 24 At Daytona would also be a flag off for James Walker’s 2010 racing career.
