The Rolex Awards for Enterprise: Young Laureates Programme has been carved out to recognize five budding pioneers in the very first year of its launch. The age group which will be eligible and rewarded for the efforts ranges from 18 to 30. Though the winners would be announced next year in the month of April the evaluation process has already started. Considering the fact that Rolex has an unmatched for name in the world of watch making as well as in the field of promoting platforms for giving opportunities for testing the human will to push oneself beyond the imaginable limits and in recognizing the efforts that people undertake to work for the common good, when Rolex decided to spread its wings to the leaders of tomorrow the process for same demanded unique approach too. To cater to the desired ends Rolex has constituted a jury which consists of some of the most prominent and real life achievers.

The Rolex Awards for Enterprise: Young Laureates Programme constitutes of a jury that is as esteemed as the expected awardees are going to be. Vijay Amritraj who belongs to India is a very well known philanthropist and has also been a UN Messenger of Peace and is a member of the eminent jury. The former tennis champion would be assisted by equally huge achievers. Rodrigo Baggio from Brazil is the founder of Center for Digital Inclusion who has been working tirelessly for bridging the digital divide between rich and poor. Spanish Vicente Guallart who is an architect of repute, and the founder of Conservation Through Public Health Uganda’s wildlife veterinary officer Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka are also part of the jury. Giving them company on the jury is Tayeb A Kamali who is an engineer and is presently the Vice Chancellor of United Arab Emirates’ Higher College of Technology. Khoo Swee Chiow from Singapore, one who has completed the ‘Adventure Grand Slam’ and Margaret Dalzell Lowman from US, professor of biology and environmental studies are also part of the jury. Founder of Global Diversity Foundation US national Gary Martin and Mexican archaeologist Nelly Robles Garcia who is also the director of World Heritage Site in Oaxaca are also going to sit on the jury to pick the worthy winners. The well known BBC television presenter who has been a professional diver as well as a polar guide would bring in even more diversity to highly capable jury. In March 2010 the jury member would get down to pick the first five winners of the Rolex Awards for Enterprise: Young Laureates Programme.
