Rolex Sponsored US Multihull Championship Concludes

US Multihull Championship

The role that Rolex plays in promoting brilliance across various fields through its efforts was amply demonstrated during the just concluded US Multihull Championship. One of the very popular and important events which is an integral part of the US SAILINGs itinerary US Multihull Championship is sponsored by Rolex Watch USA and attracts unmatched for talent across various age groups with sailors having different amounts of experience. There are always unparalleled levels of enthusiasm on display that participants demonstrate when the event is being promoted by Rolex and quite justifiably too. US Multihull Championship which in its long established history has gone on to create a niche for itself as the regatta that every sailor wants to take part in and works tirelessly to win too this time around re-established itself as the preferred championship of the sailors looking for some challenging time out on the sea.

US Multihull Championship had started off in the year 1987 and since then has become an important part of the US SAILING’s prestigious National Championship series. The sailors compete to grab the Alter Cup, the trophy that winner of the annual regatta is awarded. The US Multihull Championship over the years has constantly emerged as the fiercely contested regatta due to the fact that it has featured distinguished sailors including world champions, medal winners from Olympic and countless national championship winners. Conceived by the Multihull Council in the year 1985 the US Multihull Championship has the distinction of being the event that travels all over US and is held in a different venue every year. The venue chosen for the 2009 US Multihull Championship was the Gulf of Mexico with the Clearwater Beach being the exact venue. This year’s championship involved 20 multihull teams vying for the top honors and the way the weather played truant at the start of the tournament it had become apparent that someone with undying spirit and ability to go beyond the usual levels of human endurance, the virtues Rolex always believes in promoting, would only be able to win the Alter Cup. In the end that is exactly what happened as the team of John Casey and John Williams was able to outrace other sailors and emerged as the well deserving winners.

US Multihull Championship

During the run up to the US Multihull Championship there were lots of expectations from the strong fleet that had formed and with the practice day and even the first scheduled day for racing getting wiped out due to the weather things only became more interesting. Multiple races were held over various days with the race to top only getting tougher every time the yachts used to go out into the sea. As John Casey and John Williams went on top to win the trophy their gesture of stopping at the crucial juncture to make sure the team of Mike Easton and Tripp Burd was alright was perhaps the most memorable moment of the 2009 US Multihull Championship. It is this camaraderie and sportsmanship that Rolex has at the core of its efforts to promote events like the US Multihull Championship and was the hallmark of the championship as it came to a close.

Liz Cho And Rolex Cellini Orchid Are Always In The News

Liz Cho

Some people have an uncanny ability to make themselves stay in the middle of action at all times and even the smallest efforts they make goes a long way in ensuring that other people would have heard about it more often than not. Rolex watches have this ability ingrained in their being like no other watch brand has. Rolex has always managed to keep itself in the news whether it be through the magical experiences that it has lent to the watch wearer’s life or by the sheer symmetry in design and precision in time keeping of the watch. The watches are always mastered craftily in a way that is exclusive only to Rolex watches, as a result of which the style and attitude that they exude is something not many watch making companies can engrain in their watches. Rolex, when it launched its Cellini collection was looking at getting the business of watch making to a level that not many could match. The best part about the Cellini collection is the fact that these watches are each of them unique in a way that is exciting for watch lovers especially Rolex watch wearers to know. The Rolex Cellini Orchid is one amongst the many that the Cellini collection has to offer that has exclusivity etched over every dimension of the watch. The Rolex Cellini Orchid is distinct to say the least and a clear path breaker in the field of luxury watches in both design and performance. In fact, in the former department the watch can easily set itself ahead of some of the most stunning pieces of jewelry that the world has to offer. Liz Cho perhaps can stake a claim in both departments when it comes to the knack that she has for news and what is happening where and when and the person that she presents herself as to the world.

Serving as a weekday anchor on Eyewitness News for WABC TV, the anchor has made news reading go beyond boring updates on what is happening where and when in the world. She also co-anchors the weeknight news for the same show. Taking over from Diana Williams, whom Liz Cho has emulated through her learning years, on the show in 2003 was a learning curve pattern well traced. What had started in 1999 as a feature with ABC News, went to serving as a fill in news reader in Good Morning America and also an overnight news program for the same channel called World News Now. Liz Cho has also been voted by People magazine as one of 2003’s “50 Most Beautiful People”, the anchor characteristically stays in the news with her charisma and the warmth that she gives out in her stance and the way she reads the news out.

Rolex Cellini Orchid

The Rolex Cellini Orchid is truly one in a million. One look at the watch explains why the watch has become such a favorite with people who love to carry themselves with confidence and a certain degree of style. The watch is in every which way as strictly feminine as watches can get and when this fact couples with a generous mix of diamonds then the combination is what one would want to afford despite whatever prices it quotes. The gem set case that is definitely eye catching is also fitted with diamond markers all through the watch and when it comes together with the very dependable quartz movement that runs the watch the combination is one of symmetry and poise. For wearers who like to keep things simple yet elegant Rolex offers an option to choose a leather strap for their wrists. The 18 ct yellow gold finish of the Rolex Cellini Orchid just adds to its charm and because of the fact that the dial of the watch is white mother-of-pearl with occasional displays of diamond the watch truly takes everybody’s breath away. The bezel, the bracelet all go a long way in making the Rolex Cellini orchid one watch in a million and like Liz Cho keep it always in the news.

Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series Host Grand-Am Racing Association Gets New Home

Grand-Am Rolex Series

One of the most popular and powerful motorsports governing bodies and the organizer of Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series Grand-Am Racing Association is all set to move into its new headquarters. An impressive eight storey structure is coming up at the heart of motorsports racing at the Daytona Beach, Florida. The new home of Grand-Am Racing Association is going to be at the most suitable location with the world famous Daytona International Speedway situated right across.

The upcoming headquarters of Grand-Am Racing Association would be the headquarters for International Speedway Corp. and NASCAR as well. Once the building is completed and as some of the most critical global motorsports governing bodies would literally come under one roof this would surely garner an iconic place in the history of motorsports and memory of millions of fans of motorsports.

The building which will house the Grand-Am Racing Association headquarters would be very aptly called the International Motorsports Center and would be an embodiment of the spirit of motorsports and human excellence, something which is part of the core of philosophy of Rolex. In fact one of the basic reasons behind Rolex’s move in supporting the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series has been to become a medium for promoting human endurance and excellence and give an opportunity for the racers to drive down the multiple race courses at breathtaking speeds in those life defining moments.

If the shape of the International Motorsports Center has been designed keeping in mind the tri-oval element of Daytona International Speedway then expected LEED certification from US Green Building Council would ensure that the building would be energy conserving and environment friendly, the two issues Rolex holds close to its heart.

Rolex has been an integral part of the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series for many seasons now. Grand-Am Racing Association has been organizing the Grand-Am Road Racing since its establishment in 1999. The Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 has become the testing ground for the best racers in the world to come face to face and test their skills and the power and durability of their cars. The Rolex Series Daytona Prototype category is the number one prototype sports car racing championship in the entire world and is a favorite of the motorsports fans.

Grand-Am Racing Association

The Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series also includes Rolex Series GT class which has emerged as the first choice for the production-based sports car racing. To see two different categories of race cars racing along the same track at the same time ensures an unimaginable level of thrill that only someone who has enjoyed those races from the stands can experience.

The relationship between Grand-Am Racing Association and Rolex started six years ago when Rolex rendered its name to the title of the racing championship which was also rechristened Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series. Its reputation of ensuring maximum possible durability and top class quality in the watches that Rolex offers is what Rolex has brought to the world of motorsports. And with the new headquarters of Grand-Am Racing Association the same would be strengthened, stronger and wider.

Na Yeon Choi Becomes Sixth Rolex First-Time Winner Of 2009

LPGA

Nothing can possible match the feeling that one enjoys after that first win, which is always the sweetest and that feeling can reach unimaginable levels of happiness when a name as prestigious as Rolex is attached to it in honoring the winner. Na Yeon Chio waited for her time to come and when it eventually came she must have finally felt as elated as anyone perhaps ever can. Her moment of success came last Sunday when she put her best foot forward to emerge victorious at the Samsung World Championship to win her first golf tournament and in the process became the sixth proud winner of Rolex First-Time Winner in the year 2009.

Samsung World Championship is one the very popular tournaments on the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) calendar. It has been around since 1980 when the tournament was held for the first time and brings with itself prize money of $1,000,000. The prestigious tournament had started off as a place where only top 12 women golfers were invited initially with the number being increased to 16 in 1996. In the year 1999 the championship was expanded further to include 20 best women golfers from around the world.

The Samsung World Championship 2009 was held at the picturesque Torrey Pines Municipal Golf Courses near to San Diego and is a favorite hunting ground for the best golfers. This year’s championship was held at the South Course and among the top 20 woman golfers 17 participated to try and win the tournament. The strong field of golfers included Paula Creamer the 2008 winner and defending champion, Sophie Gustafson who is the money leader in Ladies European Tour, Lorena Ochoa who won the 2008 Vare Trophy and Jiyai Shin who is leading the 2009 LPGA Official Money List.

Na Yeon Choi

The way things turned out were quite unexpected especially one thing that was least likely was that in the strongest field of woman golfers one who would win would be a first time winner. This year’s tournament was also generating a lot of news because of the fact that it was only the second time that an LPGA tournament was being held at the popular Torrey Pines. The last and first time when this happened was 1983, so winning at the Torrey Pines was going to be one of those rare moments of LPGA history.

After toiling hard for many days Na Yeon Chio was the one who could hold on to her own and grab the top spot among the galaxy of players. The South Korean player didn’t make the best of the starts at the Torrey Pines but had a good second round and an unbelievable third round to finally round of with a not so good last round and emerge as the eventual winner. Her four-day total in the end was 16-under-par 272 broken as 71-67-63-71. This was an historic day for the LPGA as well as Na Yeon Chio who won her first LPGA tournament and won it in style. For Na Yeon Choi another major achievement of the day included the fact that her first victory also won her the honor of becoming the sixth Rolex First-Time Winner of the year.

The Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race shares the same popularity as the Melbourne Cup horse race, the Davis Cup tennis and the cricket test matches between Australia and other countries. As per the experience of the participants every year, the 628 nautical mile race is quite a difficult battle as it requires the participants to be more skilled and experienced as compared to other regattas. A huge mass of spectators from all over the world come together on the Sydney Harbor to experience the spectacular sporting event every year. Over the years, the event has been organized by the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia and with their proper management and dedicated and professional staff members they have made this event a tremendous success year after year. The club has marked a name on international arena and has set new standards in the world of yacht racing, communications and sea safety. The members of the club have made a satisfactory contribution towards the ocean racing events world wide. Trophies like the Admiral’s Cup, Kenwood Cup, One Ton Cup, Fastnet Race and the BOC Challenge solo race and America Cup, have been the examples of their illustrious success overseas.

Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race 2009

The year 2009 is an important year for the organizers of the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race as it is going to be the 65th running of the event. The enthusiasm among the sailors to participate in this extravagant regatta is so high that within just a few hours of the announcement of the event, the first four entries were received by the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia. One among the four entries was that of CYCA Commodore Matt Allen and his Jones 70 Ichi Ban. Matt Allen’s Ichi Ban has always been a mighty beast over the oceans as it won the third position across the line in 2008 and 2007 and was next to Wild Oats XI in 2006. The CYCA Commodore has been an old player of this event as this year’s race will be his 21st race. Being an experienced sailor, his fans are having quite high hopes for him this year. Apart from the local fleet, a strong international flotilla is expected this year with Netherlands’ Atse Blei making the first overseas entry with his S&S 41 Pinta-M.

The Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race had been quite sought-after event from the beginning, but the involvement of Rolex as the principal sponsor since 2002 gave it quite a big boost.

Sporting A Rolex Datejust, Sophie Marceau Took The Sexiest Rolex Picture Ever Taken

Sophie Marceau Sporting a 2Tone Rolex Datejust on the beach, French star Sophie Marceau took the sexiest picture ever of a woman wearing a Rolex watch. If you want to make an argument against this assertion, please take a good long look at the picture. With salt water dripping from her black shirt, Sophie’s smile with her pouty-pursed lips is pure sensuality as her Rolex Datejust dangles on her wrist. The Rolex Datejust enhances the sexuality of the photo by making the implication that this is no easy conquest for any man. Not only does the Rolex Datejust mean that this is a first-class woman of the finest styles, it also shows that Sophie Marceau has taste to go along with her beauty. If you want to have a shot at a lady of such a high caliber, you had better bring your best game and the true class to the table. Otherwise, to put it bluntly, with a beautiful and talented woman like Sophie Marceau sporting a Rolex 2Tone Datejust, you simply will not have a shot. Of course, Sophie Marceau is happily married with children, but such an incredibly sexy picture does spark the imagination. This sultry, ravishingly beautiful Sophie Marceau was born November 17, 1966, in Paris, France. While growing up with her father in the Parisian suburbs, Sophie was always far removed from the big studios of France. When she was 14, a friend of hers informed her that French director Claude Pinoteau was casting fresh talent for his film, La Boum, and Sophie Marceau was cast in the teenage film, released in 1980. The film was a huge hit and she was honored with the Cesar (French Oscar) for Most Promising Actress, in 1983. She then broke away from the mold of a teenage star and moved onto more dramatic parts in films such as 1986’s Descente aux Enfers (Descent Into Hell) and Pacific Palisades. Sophie Marceau even ventured into theater with her role in Eurydice in 1991, which garnered her a Marceau a Moliere Award for Most Promising Newcomer. She won acclaim as a teenage prostitute in L’Amour Braques (1985); directed by her longtime companion, Polish director Andrzej Zukawski.

Sophie MarceauWith her Rolex 2Tone Datejust on her wrist on the red carpet, Sophie Marceau became an international star when she played the Princess of Wales in Mel Gibson’s Oscar-winning epic Braveheart (1995). Mel Gibson immediately knew that Sophie Marceau was perfect for the part, and moviegoers agreed that she added beauty to what was already an excellent, yet gory script. The luminous actress brought a much-needed injection of passion and smoldering sexuality amidst the battle scenes. In her role as Princess Isabelle, international audiences took notice of the French beauty While Sophie tries to stay away from the Hollywood scene, she has an impressive resume of American films. Impressed with Marceau, Mel Gibson (as producer) hired her for the lead in yet another screen version of Anna Karenina (1997). In 1999, she jumped to Bond Girl status as Elektra King, starring opposite Pierce Brosnan in the 19th Bond outing The World Is Not Enough. After co-starring in the French features La Fidélité (2000) for Poland’s acclaimed director and her soon-to-be lover Andrzej Zulawski, Sophie Marceau returned to the States for the romantic feature, Alex and Emma (2003), which starred Kate Hudson and Luke Wilson. An animal lover, Sophie avidly and publicly protests sports such as dove shooting and bullfighting, and supports Arc-en-Ciel, an organization that helps sick children. While family and friends refer to Sophie as Flatfoosie, she is known as mom to her son Vincent with husband Andrzej Zulawski. Still, even as a married mother, Sophie Marceau still is super sexy in her beach pic with her Rolex watch. The ladies 2Tone Rolex Datejust with Jubilee 18k/SS band is an elegant version of the Rolex classic. The genuine Mother of Pearl dial provides a multi-colored and multi-faceted iridescent look that has become increasingly popular in the exclusive circles of high fashion. The Rolex 2Tone Datejust comes with a custom diamond mother of pearl dial, and the watch has a sapphire crystal while the jubilee band is made of steel and gold. Without question, with a Rolex 2Tone Datejust on her wrist, Sophie Marceau is one of the sexiest women in the world.

Dean Koontz Keeps To His Deadlines By Wearing A Rolex Day Date President

Dean KoontzIt is amazing how Dean Koontz’s choice of a Rolex Day-Date President fits so perfectly with the determination to succeed of the best-selling author. When he was a senior in college, Dean Koontz won an Atlantic Monthly fiction competition and has been writing ever since. His books are published in 38 languages. He has sold 375,000,000 copies, a figure that currently increases by more than 17 million copies per year. Born on July 9, 1945, Dean Koontz was raised in Pennsylvania. He graduated from Shippensburg State College, and his first job after graduation was with the Appalachian Poverty Program, where he was expected to counsel and tutor underprivileged children on a one-to-one basis. His first day on the job, he discovered that the previous occupier of his position had been beaten up by the very kids he had been trying to help. The following year was filled with challenge but also tension, and Koontz was more highly motivated than ever to build a career as a writer. He wrote nights and weekends, which he continued to do after leaving the poverty program and going to work as an English teacher. After a year and a half, his wife, Gerda, made him an offer he could not refuse: “I’ll support you for five years,” she said, “and if you can’t make it as a writer in that time, you’ll never make it.”

Dean KoontzBy the end of those five years, Gerda had quit her job to run the business side of her husband’s writing career. With a Rolex Day-Date Presidential on his wrist, Dean Koontz had made his dreams come true. Dean Koontz published science fiction novels in the late 1960s and early ’70s, and then wrote novels in a variety of genres under several pseudonyms. One of Dean Koontz’s pen names was inspired by his dog, Trixie Koontz, a golden retriever, shown in many of his book-jacket photos. Originally a service dog with Canine Companions For Independence (CCI), a charitable organization that provides service dogs for people with disabilities. Trixie was a gift from CCI in gratitude of the Koontz’s substantial donations, totaling $2,500,000 between 1991 and 2004. Many of Dean Koontz’s book jackets showed pictures of the writer wearing his Rolex Day Date Presidential with Trixie by his side. When Dean Koontz was asked why he used so many pen names (the major ones were Leigh Nichols, Brian Coffey, K.R. Dwyer, and Owen West), the author answered: “I resorted to them largely because, early in my career, agents and editors insisted that I use a pen name every time I wrote something different from what I had written before. They said that readers always wanted pretty much the same book from an author every time. Eventually I became convinced that readers would be pleased by diversity as long as the books grabbed and held them. I no longer use any pen names.” Like a Rolex watch, Dean Koontz values authenticity and the belief that his fans deserves nothing but the genuine article.

Dean KoontzDean Koontz’s 1980 novel Whispers became a bestseller and defined what would become his winning formula, a well-crafted suspense story with elements of horror and the supernatural. Dean Koontz has published dozens of novels, many of which have been bestsellers, including Hideaway (1992), Intensity (1996), Odd Thomas (2003) and Velocity (2005). Dean Koontz describes the joy of writing: “Once in a great while, a book feels so true and right from the first chapter, the characters so alive, that I become - and remain - joyful on a deep instinctive level even as I remain tortured by doubt. When a novel proceeds this well, I am so effervescent as to be annoying. After a ten-hour session at the keyboard, I virtually burst out of my study singing show tunes, and at dinner I regale my patient wife with bits of amusing dialogue that the characters spoke in the latest scene - as though I have not been writing at all but rather eavesdropping on the adventures of real people.” Fourteen of his books have risen to the number one position in paperback. His books have also been major bestsellers in countries as diverse as Japan and Sweden.
The New York Times has called his writing “psychologically complex, masterly and satisfying.” while Rolling Stone has hailed him as “America’s most popular suspense novelist.” Indeed, being a writer of his caliber, a Rolex Day Date President in yellow gold is the perfect watch for Dean Koontz. The Rolex Day-Date President represents the effort and focus that allowed Dean Koontz to overcome early obstacles to his astonishing success.

Golden Globe Winner Jason Bateman Chooses A Rolex Daytona On And Off The Big Screen

Jason batemanSince winning his Golden Globe award, the Rolex Daytona has come to symbolize success for Jason Bateman across the proverbial board. In the first big thriller of the summer of 2009, Jason Bateman has a key supporting role in the Russel Crowe film State Of Play. As a television actor, Jason Bateman is best known for his role as Michael Bluth on the television sitcom Arrested Development, as well as his role on Silver Spoons as a child actor. In the twenty-first century, Bateman’s television career has been on a soaring trajectory. In 2005, he won the Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series, Musical or Comedy, for Arrested Development. Since taking off on the small screen, Jason Bateman has found success on the big screen. In the Diablo Cody smash hit Juno, Jason Bateman’s character wears a Rolex Daytona. In The Kingdom and Mr. Magrorium’s Wonder Emporium, Jason Bateman expanded his range to include big screen comedy an action-adventure. In fact, he starred with and played opposite A-list actress Jennifer Garner, a well-known Rolex fan, in both The Kingdom and Juno. In Juno, Jason Bateman’s character wears a stainless steel Oyster Perpetual Rolex Cosmograph Daytona with the white face and the classic triple dial. In addition, Jason Bateman has been photographed wearing what looks practically like the same Rolex watch in his everyday life.

Jason BatemanSo, which came first — the Rolex in the movie or Jason Bateman’s own personal Rolex? Did the studio give Jason Bateman the Rolex Daytona he wore in the film or did the director see the actor’s watch and decide to give one to the character in the film? In truth, Jason Bateman wore the Rolex watch before he was cast in the film, and even before he was awarded the Golden Globe award for his central performance in Arrested Development. The stainless steel Oyster Perpetual Rolex Cosmograph Daytona has always been the right choice for both the man and the ultimately Jason Bateman’s character in Juno. In Hollywood, Jason Bateman has been enjoying a happy family life with his wife, actress Amanda Anka (daughter of singer Paul Anka). They wed in Malibu, California, in 2003. Their first child, Francesca Nora Bateman, was born on October 28, 2006. In the picture of Jason Bateman wearing the stainless steel Oyster Perpetual Rolex Cosmograph Daytona in his regular life, he is holding his beautiful daughter. In such a picture, the presence of a Rolex Daytona provides a bubble of security for both the father and the child. For Jason Bateman, the Rolex Daytona Cosmograph has come to symbolize both his success as an actor and as a human being. If a Rolex means the ultimate in quality, then you must be a quality actor when you are chosen to play a character that wears a Rolex watch. Taking the vision one step further, by wearing the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona, Jason Bateman has created a lasting image of his ongoing success both in life and on the silver screen. By winning the Golden Globe, Jason Bateman showed that the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona on his wrist truly represents the driving heart of his success.

No Longer A Meadow Or A Soprano, Jamie Lynn Sigler Still Wears A Rolex

Jamie Lynn Sigler No longer a Meadow (in truth, she never was a meadow, but just played a character named Meadow — please forgive the silly joke) or a Soprano, Jamie Lynn Sigler shines like a star when she wears a Rolex Daytona to Hollywood premieres. In 2008, after a three-episode guest shot on “Entourage” as Turtle’s new love interest, Jamie Lynn Sigler showed up on the red carpet with the classic stainless steel men’s Rolex Cosmograph Daytona on her wrist. Well before “Entourage” ever began, Jamie Lynn Sigler came into the national pop cultural awareness as Meadow Soprano on the HBO mega hit “The Sopranos” from 1999 to 2007. She added much to the classic show created by David Chase and starring James Gandolfini as Tony Soprano. Nevertheless, it was not easy in the beginning: Jamie Lynn Sigler was nearly recast early in the shooting, but David Chase gave her a second-chance. She took this chance and created a truly memorable character. Contrary to her on-screen image, Jamie Lynn Sigler is not Italian. She laughs when she explains: “I have no Italian in me. I’m Cuban, Greek, Romanian and Sephardic Jew, so I couldn’t get further from Italian. But I guess I’ve been adopted into that family, too.” Jamie Lynn Sigler began her rise to the top with a well-publicized role as Anne Frank in the Broadway version of the classic tale, taking over the role from Natalie Portman. Midway through high school she was cast as the daughter of a certain upcoming HBO series. She starred as Meadow Soprano, the daughter of the New Jersey mob boss, in the critically acclaimed HBO original series. For her work on the show, she received the 1999 and 2000 Hollywood Reporter Young Star Award for Best Young Actress in a Dramatic Television Series. Jamie Lynn Sigler has also starred as former Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss in the USA Network’s two-hour original movie “Call Me: The Rise and Fall of Heidi Fleiss” (2004).

Jamie Lynn Sigler After her success on “The Sopranos”, Jamie Lynn Sigler was happy to leave Meadow Soprano behind and take the next step forward in her successful career. The question was where would that step take her. When she was offered the starring role in a three-episode story arc on the new HBO hit series “Entourage” as Turtle’s surprise love interest, she excitedly accepted the chance to get back in the limelight. What she did not expect was that the love on the screen would lead to love off the screen. Jamie Lynn Sigler is keeping her lips sealed on new beau, “Entourage” co-star, Jerry Ferrara. “He is a very special person, and I’ll leave it there,” the actress told Page Six magazine.” I’ve always been a serial monogamist,” she said. “I’m not a good dater. It takes a lot for me to even want to kiss someone. I can’t just go out and make out with people. I have to have a connection, and those are rare for me.” However, that does not mean the 28-year-old is sitting at home on a Friday night. “I’m having a second twenties,” she said. “It’s a little like a do-over. In my early twenties, with all of the people I had in my life, I was often misguided and misled. I was told what I needed to be in every given moment – what I should and shouldn’t say,” she said. “It was such a weird thing when I was 21 or 22 and just getting into the world. I think I deserve to form my own life now.” Whatever happens with her new relationship, Jamie Lynn Sigler has started upon a new road of success with her starring appearance on “Entourage.” Without question, a symbol of this new life and the freedom of simply having a good time is her Rolex Daytona. After all, as the Rolex Day Date Presidential worn by Tony Soprano symbolizes the success of the mob boss, Jamie Lynn Sigler’s Rolex Daytona represents the freedom she has embraced and the amazing career she has experienced as a young actor on the rise.

A Rolex Watch On The Big Screen Produces Sharon Stone’s Passion For Rolex

Sharon StoneWhen Sharon Stone wore a men’s stainless steel Rolex Submariner with a black dial in Sphere, the sci-fi event film based on Michael Crichton’s best-selling novel, she developed a true passion for Rolex watches. What is so intriguing about Sharon Stone’s passion is that she developed a true attachment to the specific Rolex watch model that she wore in the film. When an actor shoots a film, they have nothing to do with the choice of their costume or accessories. Those specific character choices begin with the screenwriter and end with the director who communicates the final decisions through the costume designer. Often, the costume designer or a prop specialist will present a range of accessory choices to the director to choose from for the lead characters. In a star vehicle, the actor will have a certain degree of input, particularly if the film is a drama or a comedy. In a big-budget sci-fi movie like Sphere with special effects, the actor would have no say whatsoever in picking their Rolex watch. Instead, the Rolex watch would reflect the needs of the story.

SphereSince Sphere was an ultra-expensive studio event film that takes place in an underwater base, a Rolex submariner was a perfect choice for Sharon Stone’s character, Dr. Elizabeth “Beth” Halpern, a marine biologist and biochemist. Wikipedia describes the opening and the setting of Sphere as follows: “In the middle of the southern Pacific Ocean, a thousand feet below the surface, what is believed to be an alien spacecraft is discovered after a ship laying transocean cable has its cable cut and the United States Navy investigates the cause. The thickness of coral growth on the spaceship suggests that it has been there for almost 300 years. A team made up of a marine biologist, a mathematician, an astrophysicist, a psychologist and a member of the U.S. Navy is tasked with investigating the spaceship. The team (along with two navy technicians) are housed in a state-of-the-art underwater living environment called the Habitat during their stay on the ocean floor.” Given such a context, it further makes sense that the character would wear a men’s stainless steel Rolex Submariner with a black dial. Just reading the last sentence, such a Rolex watch sounds like it should be on the wrist of an action-adventure hero. The choice to have the character of Dr. Elizabeth “Beth” Halpern wear such a Rolex definitely was not made by Sharon Stone, but probably by Michael Crichton in the original novel, that was the source material for the screenplay. If Michael Crichton or the screenwriter did not specify the watch design, then director Barry Levinson and made the choice with the costume designer.

Sharon StoneQuestion: Why go into such detail about the choice of a Rolex watch for a character in a movie that was released over a decade ago? Good question: The answer is that a decade later, Sharon Stone still is wearing a stainless steel Rolex Submariner with a black dial. Clearly, during the making of what can be called a somewhat forgettable Hollywood blockbuster, she fell in love with her character’s wardrobe, specifically the Rolex watch. Whether she actually was given the wardrobe watch by the studio, which seems doubtful or whether she later bought a Rolex Submariner for herself, Sharon Stone became a Rolex enthusiast and a Submariner devotee during the shooting of the movie. Seven years after Sphere was released, on the French cover of Elle in 2005, Sharon Stone is wearing a men’s stainless steel Rolex Submariner with a black dial. Clearly, once you have the opportunity to wear a classic Rolex watch on your wrist like the stainless steel Rolex Submariner with a black dial, you will be won over for good and there is no going back to second-rate watches. Once converted to Rolex when her character wore a Rolex Submariner in Sphere, Sharon Stone became a true Rolex devotee.
