Rob Thomas And Rolex Cosmograph Daytona; When Twenty Is Too Little

Rob Thomas
Twenty is usually a good number; it is neither too much nor too little and also carries an association of being the number that promises one towards the larger things in life. Then what does Rolex have to do with the number? It is not so much the number as what is connected with the reputation of the number being forward looking that makes Rolex and the number twenty an ideal pair. Rolex has played with time and played with numbers for a long time and has always minded the fact that if time cannot be stopped it can at least be tamed to serve man’s purpose. Time that is read in numbers, like the number twenty is always anticipating of the future. The whole brouhaha about the number twenty is an attempt to do a take on Rob Thomas’ band Matchbox Twenty. The lead singer for the band Rob also writes and composes for the band. Thomas is also a solo artist and lends his writing talents to Marc Anthony, Mick Jagger, Taylor Hicks, and Daughtry.

Rob began his solo career after twenty years with Matchbox Twenty and his talent as a good lyricist and brilliant musician could not go unnoticed. Rob released his hit single Something to Be that peaked at No. 1 soon after its release. The third single Ever The Same went gold and soon became a top five Adult Contemporary hit. In 2007 Thomas released Little Wonders that reached no. 5 on the Mediabase Hot Adult contemporary charts. The same year Thomas released Exile on Mainstream with Matchbox Twenty. The album came out with six new releases three of which were “How far we’ve come”, “All your reasons” and “These hard times”.

Rolex Cosmograph Daytona

Rob is under talks to collaborate with Adam Shankman for a song for the film The Last Song. Rob is also teaming up with Rivers Cuomo for a reggae song on popular demand.  His second album Cradlesong has released this year and Rob has already performed the hit single Her diamonds for the Ellen DeGeneres show.

Rolex serves another classic with the introduction of the Cosmograph Daytona. What the Cosmograph Daytona does is that it takes the concept of time and its futuristic element and binds it to a stunning effect in the Cosmograph model. The outcome is not only a visual delight but is also a preface into the accurateness that Rolex brand of watches can offer. The steel and yellow gold Cosmograph Daytona is very effective in grabbing eyeballs every time you sport it on your wrist. The certified chronometer is most suited to measuring elapsed time and also calculates average speed with utmost accuracy. The Daytona has a sweep second hand and a minute and hour totalisator that makes the time watching experience a novelty in this day and age. The special bezel is engraved and calibrated for the purpose of immediately reading off speeds. The waterproof chronometer is also self wound and features an Oysterlock with an Easylink. The dial of the Cosmograph Daytona is 40 mm in radial and is made in polished steel. Crystallized in sapphire the Daytona is not only a sign of excellence in marking time but also features the highly efficient graduated tachometer bezel. Rob Thomas and the Cosmograph Daytona make twenty a cool number to know.

To be different has been the dream of all but the passion to accomplish that has evaded most. She is an American actress who through her acting across different media has showcased how you can make the impact by being different. The young and beautiful actress was born in 1971 in Hollywood in a family closely associated with the showbiz and was destined to be successful in Hollywood. When she was only 3 months old she debuted on television in the series Days of Our Lives. Her first film was 1979 Jaws of Satan. So much so even her guest appearances in other TV sitcoms have been very well received. She plays the title role in the hit comedy series Samantha Who? for which she has been nominated for the 61st Emmy Awards.

Christina Applegate

Jeff Goldblum And Rolex GMT Master II; Mad Geniuses

Jeff Goldblum

Mad geniuses have a way of endearing themselves to people around them because their efforts at understanding the small things in life are not cruel madness, but a passion that is infective. Goldblum is known for the ‘slightly different’ characters that he has always chosen to play. Neither the quintessential Hollywood hero nor the sinister baddie, Goldblum has carved a space out for himself that is best defined only by him and his fans. The GMT Master II like Goldblum is not a typical Rolex watch. It may come from the same stable but what makes it distinct from the other models is the fact that despite its quirks the GMT Master like its name suggests commands authority. The Rolex brand maybe called a mad genius because its attention to detail is so thorough that it might be referred to as maddening. Goldblum and the Rolex GMT Master are intense performers because they have a passion to add their little flavor of eccentricity to whatever they do and whoever they meet.

Goldblum studied acting at the Neighborhood Playhouse making his Broadway debut in The Two Gentleman of Verona. His onscreen debut was in Death Wish, a Charles Bronson film. He was next cast in California Split, Special Delivery, Nashville in the following years. He was finally cast in Annie Hall in ’77 and went on to do Between the Lines the same year. Goldblum played the lead in The Fly, he was the other man who visited the alien spaceship with Will Smith in Independence Day. Goldblum reached a different level of popularity with his roles in Jurassic Park and The Lost World. A despondent man with a devil may care attitude in Spielberg’s films; the character even with his disaffected stance captivated the Jurassic Park fans.

Rolex GMT Master II

Jeff played character roles in The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and films that went on to become cult cinema-Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the Eighth Dimension and Igby Goes Down. Jeff who taught acting directed a short film Little Surprises that was nominated for an Oscar in ’96.

Jeff founded a theater company called The Fire Dept. in 2006; a Company that he believes will bring a fresh lease of life into theatre. The theatre company looks at creating new work along with revisiting old favorites for theatre buffs. Goldblum plays the German entertaining ringmaster to an assortment of varied people who share a common holocaust victim past, in this year’s Adam Resurrected.

The GMT Master II is a watch whose little quirks and details go into making it the superlative chronometer that it is. The watch has a 24 hour hand that comes with an independently adjustable 12 hour hand. This enables the wearer to check time in two different zones simultaneously. The dial of the GMT Master II is 40 mm in radius and a classic black in color. The steel and yellow gold watch has the ability to transform the personality of its wearer. The bezel is a special black rotatable one that is carved in ceramic. The GMT Master II is a self wound watch and waterproof to 330 feet. The Rolex GMT Master II and Jeff Goldblum are mad geniuses who have surpassed the tags of eccentricity and shared their passion with others to let the world know that they may be mad but they are geniuses nevertheless.

Jane Fonda And Rolex Cellini Cellissima; Everlasting Beauties

Jane Fonda

If beauty were a light in the heart then Jane Fonda has never let that light dim into a shadow. The light might have flickered as days passed but it never perished into complete darkness but only resurged with brighter hope. The Rolex hallmark is associated with a beauty in its watches that has years of meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail gone into each feature that is represented in the watch. The Cellini Cellissima collection has gained instant popularity with Rolex clients from the day it has been launched. The Cellissima is a timeless beauty that doubles up as a delicate piece of jewelry that ornaments any wrist it wraps. Jane Fonda like the Cellissima is known not as a beauty that has never known age, but one that has won age over and done it most gracefully. She is as stunning as ever and gives the passage of time a thumb down with her beautiful youthfulness.

Fonda practiced on stage before she decided to appear before the camera. She won the Golden Globe as the Most Promising Newcomer. Her breakthrough performance was in Cat Ballou and in 1968 Fonda played the lead in Barbarella a role that catapulted her to instant stardom.

Fonda won her first Oscar nomination for They Shoot Horses, Don’t They? Fonda won the Oscar for playing a prostitute in Klute with tremendous honesty. Her next Oscar came for Coming Home. The third nomination came her way for playing a playwright in Julia.

In the 80’s Fonda appeared in Nine to Five her greatest commercial success. Another Oscar nomination followed for the film The Morning After. Fonda made a comeback with the commercial hit Monster-in-law and Georgia Rule in the ‘90s.

Rolex Cellini Cellissima

Fonda is also well known for having a strong political mind. She had actively protested against the Vietnam War. In 2001 Fonda established the Jane Fonda Center for Adolescent Reproductive Health. She is also the chairperson of the Vagina Monologues chapter.

Fonda has also released her autobiography My Life So Far. Her book brought good reviews from the best names in the press. Fonda has also been inducted into the California Hall of Fame in 2008.

The Cellini Cellissima is the most stunning of the entire Cellini collection. Part of the Cellini white gold range of watches the Cellissima is not a self wound watch. The watch claims a quartz movement and has a most stylish tonneau shaped case design. The Cellissima features a diamond set module that encases the dial beautifully. The bezel has an elegant polish to it and the end pieces of the watch are set with brilliants. The blue dial of the watch offsets the white gold finish of the watch to create a stunning effect. Rolex lets you choose between a bracelet and a leather strap to hold the watch to your wrist. Both feature a gold folding clasp. The Cellini Cellissima is the ideal watch for the delicately wrist-ed but not for the faint hearted. Cellissima requires an enigmatic persona to carry it off with aplomb. And who can do this better than the timeless beauty Jane Fonda. Both Cellissima and Fonda are examples of what time can never do to you or your looks once you’ve learnt how to master it.

Halle Berry And Rolex Lady Datejust; Beating Prejudices

Halle Berry

Rolex has been a marker of time for over a century now and it has come this far because it has successfully overcome competition and prejudices that are associated with any name trying to establish itself in a foreign land. Halle Berry born and brought up in the US was taught from a very early age to grow as a personality and not as a representative of a certain color. Halle grew up to have many firsts as an African American woman in her career. Rolex too surpassed other brand names and set out on the path to become what it is today, because with every defeat that it faced, it raised its strength to heights that put it on a platform from where it could only look up, not down. Halle Berry and the Rolex name are heroes of a different kind. They have achieved a lot of fame for themselves today because they have a history of a well fought struggle behind them.

Halle won the Miss Teen All American in 1985 she was also the first Miss USA runner up, her interview being awarded the highest score of the pageant. Her first full length feature film was Jungle Fever. Halle’s played a biracial slave in Queen: The Story of an American family. However it was the drug addict mother coming to terms with losing her child in Losing Isaiah in 1995 that established Berry as a top league actress.

In 1998, Berry was cast in Bulworth, a role that garnered much critical acclaim. Berry went on to play Zola Taylor in the biopic Why Do Fools Fall in Love. She also played the first African American woman to receive an Oscar nomination in Introducing Dorothy Dandridge winning an Emmy and Golden Globe for her performance.

Her stupendous performance in Monster’s Ball earned for Halle her first Academy Award. It was a crowning moment for the actress, being the first African American woman to have received this prestigious award.

Rolex Lady Datejust

Berry with her super fit body was the perfect cast for the X-Men series, and also played the Bond girl with a meatier role this time around in Die Another Day. She went on to do box office hits like Gothika and Catwoman, and also starred in emotional drama Things We Lost in the Fire. Berry is also slated to produce Tulia this year starring her Monster’s Ball co-star Billy Bob Thornton.

Halle has been awarded with a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Berry has served as the face of Revlon and Versace. It was on a Versace shoot that Halle met Gabriel Aubry with whom she has a baby Nahla Ariela Aubry. Halle has proved to be as great a mother as she is an actress.

The Lady Datejust has been redesigned to feature much smoother lines from how it was initially designed to cater to its customers. The Datejust is designed with enhanced dials and one can choose from steel or steel and white gold combinations. The white gold used is 18ct in purity and the certified chronometer has a date calendar with a Cyclops magnifier that allows one to view time under any condition. The fluted bezel of the watch adds further character to the Lady Datejust along with the silver concentric dial that the watch exhibits. The bracelet of the watch is a Jubilee featuring crownclasp and is waterproof to 100 metres. The watch is crystallized in sapphire and the steel and white gold finish is exactly what Rolex is talking about when it talks about beating prejudices like Halle Berry.

Geena Davis And Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust; Striking Gorgeousness

Geena Davis

There are beauties and then there is a Geena Davis who takes gorgeousness beyond the world of the superficially beautiful into the world of the talented. The lady is not only strikingly beautiful like the Rolex but her beauty exudes a warmth that is also typical of the Rolex house of watches. A brand name is usually associated with a kind of regalia that many think is snobbishness. But the Rolex has prioritized the concept of affability to the point that owning a Rolex is no longer about maintaining a status quo. Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust comes across as a beauty with a heart and a talent with a soul, qualities that are rare and also define Geena Davis the most aptly.

Born in Massachusetts, Davis was interested in music from a very young age. Geena learnt the piano, flute and drums and she also played the organ at her church in Wareham.

Davis graduated with a bachelor’s degree in drama from Boston University all along working part time for the Media Group.

Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust

Interestingly Davis worked as a window mannequin for Ann Taylor when she started out. Sydney Pollack cast her in Tootsie as a soap opera actress in 1982. Her breakthrough role came in The Accidental Tourist for which she won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. Davis went on to win an Oscar nomination for Thelma and Louise in 1991. She was nominated for a Saturn Award for Best Actress for her roles in The Stuart Little series. She stars in this year’s much awaited Accidents Happen as Gloria Conway.

Geena also tried her hands in television, acting as Grace’s sister Janet in Will & Grace and her quirky humor in the role won her accolades. She was cast to play the lead in ABC’s series Commander in Chief as the first female President of the US. She won the year’s (2006) Golden Globe for Best Actress. She was also nominated for an Emmy Award for her role. Geena was the host on The Geena Davis Show from 2000-01.

Geena is leading the team at the Women’s Sports Foundation campaign called Geena Takes Aim that focuses on equality in sports opportunities. Davis also launched the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media in 2007. The idea behind the institute is to increase the presence of female characters in media and reduce stereotyping of both males and females on the screen.

The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust is a superb exhibition of how watches can redefine one’s entire wardrobe. The wristwatch that displays a date calendar also comes with a Cyclops magnifier and a 36 mm white dial. Made in diamonds and white gold the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust has a stunning white mother- of- pearl dial set with diamonds. The Datejust comes in both leather strap and metal finish bracelets. The clasp is a golden fold and keeps the watch securely tied to the wearer’s wrist. The self winding watch is water resistant to 100 metres and crystallized in sapphire. The Oyster Perpetual Datejust takes beauty to a degree of striking gorgeousness that only Geena Davis can meet.

Alicia Keys And Rolex Day Date; Singing To The Tune

Alicia Keys

Music has a way of finding the deepest corners of one’s heart and if it is as fine tuned as it is when it comes from a mellifluous voice like Alicia Keys you know that the heart will follow where the ears are. Rolex watches may not be singing vocally but to a Rolex enthusiast in particular and to watch lovers in general the music that a well set watch offers can compete with the best in the music world. Keys is a versatile singer and like Rolex watches is the perfect package with her looks and her talent together packing in a punch. Rolex watches are high on style but higher on performance. Their singing style has been perfected with years of artistry and a century of expertise contributing to making Rolex the most well sought watch brand ever.

The Day Date is empowered with a calendar mechanism that as the name suggests displays both the date and the day of the week in a choice of 26 languages. The bezel of the watch is an amazing display of skilful mastery and also dazzles with brilliants. The dial of the watch is marked in diamonds and the base is set in silver. Shawn Johnson And Rolex Datejust; Pixie Powerhouses

Rolex Datejust

The young Shawn Johnson owns a kind of flexibility that could put even a rope to shame. The elfin princess of the gymnasium is not only a brilliant gymnast but also performs her acrobatics with a mastery that belies her age. Gymnastics does not only require hours of tireless practice from its performers but also a strong determination to always get up from the last fall and look towards perfecting the move that caused the fall. The Rolex trademark associates with a similar dedication of character. A Rolex watch is not formed from an afterthought, in fact when Rolex decides to come out with a new collection it ensures that the watches will offer the same Rolex experience as the brand has earned a reputation for.

Shawn was enrolled in gymnastics classes at the tender age of three; she was also among the first students to join the Liang Chow gymnastics classes. In the 2007 Pan American Games Johnson won four gold medals in four categories and a silver in the fifth. Shawn represented US in that year’s World Artistic Gymnastics Championship. Ethan Stiefel And Rolex Explorer; Bearers Of A Legacy

Ethan Stiefel

Ballet as a dance form has always been associated with floating ballerinas in snowy tutus dancing to Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake. Ethan Stiefel has taken that tradition to a new level; he has jazzed the ballet up by many notches and imbued the brilliant dance form with a modern spirit. Rolex house of watches have also revolutionized watch making, drawing heavily from the traditional and imbibing a refreshing flavor of contemporaneity to its new set of watches. The vintage watches have had their customers come from the most varied of fields. The Rolex hallmark has for a very long time been associated with success, talent, courage and confidence. Rolex watches have been gifted, passed on to the next generation as an heirloom, bought and also served as collaterals for its connoisseurs over the years. And this could not have happened had Rolex been just another expensive watch. People associate a certain priceless value with the Rolex that is not easily replaceable by the most expensive things in the world that money can buy. And it has striven to reinvent itself and be rightly called a contemporary watch brand but with the flavor of a legacy. Ethan Stiefel is a famous American Ballet Theatre dancer and choreographer who has proved time and again that ballet is as much a modern dance form as the hip hop, only the ballet comes with a richer past and a tradition to nurture into the future.

Boys in ballet being a rarity; Ethan was destined to redefine many set definitions of what is right and what is not from a very young age. Stiefel studied at the Milwaukee Ballet School before he moved on to larger platforms. Ethan was awarded a scholarship whereby he enrolled in to ABT’s School of Classical Ballet and the School of American Ballet.

Rolex Explorer II

Meanwhile Ethan also performed with the Zurich Ballet and became a principal dancer with the ABT on his return. Ethan has played the key romantic roles in many classic and contemporary ballets staged by the ABT. Ethan was the proud recipient of a Prix de Lausanne in ’89 and was also awarded the Princess Grace Foundation USA grant in ’91. Ethan is also the coordinator for a workshop in ballet conducted in Martha’s Vineyard every year. Ethan’s ballet skills also earned him the lead in the film on ballet, Center Stage and its sequel Center Stage: Turn it Up. Ethan serves as the Dean of The School of Dance at the North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem.

The Rolex Explorer had gained such popularity amongst Rolex users that the watch brand had to come up with a rendition of the watch in a modern form that Rolex aptly called the Rolex Explorer II. The Explorer II is featured with a date display and also features a 24 hour fixed bezel engraved with tags for hour markers. The Explorer II also has a special 24 hour hand that a user can set to his convenience to read the current time in different time zones. The Rolex watch also allows you to distinguish day from night hours just by glancing at the watch. A certified chronometer like the Explorer also comes with an independent 12 hour hand to allow reading for a second time zone. The Explorer is polished in steel and a white dial with a 40 mm radius dial makes the hour markers more prominent and easy to read. The oyster lock bracelet of the self wound watch hold it in place while the sapphire crystallized watch offers a water resistance up to 100 meters. The Rolex Explorer II and Ethan Stiefel are the rightful bearers of their respective legacies.

Dustin Hoffman And Rolex GMT Master II; Timeless Heroes

Dustin Hoffman

Heroes like time are forever and if it is Dustin Hoffman that we are talking about here then such heroes illuminate our lives only once in a lifetime’s experience. Rolex was launched to cater to people who respected time for not only its value but the fact that once it passed it never comes back. Rolex made sure that the good times of your life were captured in timeless seconds and Hoffman’s performances are a few of those beautiful moments that you would always want to last forever.

Hoffman began acting at the Pasadena Playhouse and soon shifted to New York, where he started doing odd jobs all the while he was doing small roles on television. In 1960 Hoffman joined the renowned Actor’s Studio making a successful start in the off Broadway production of Eh? in 1966.

Hoffman continued teaching at night schools while directing community theater productions. Dustin landed his much famous role of Benjamin Braddock in the Graduate in ’66. He received an Academy Award nomination for the role. The same year a role in a Broadway production won him the Drama Desk Award. Soon after his role in the film Midnight Cowboy won him his second Academy nomination. Lenny filmed in 1974 was his claim to a third Oscar nomination.

Two brilliant stars Hoffman and Meryl Streep were cast to deliver performances that catapulted their fame in Kramer vs. Kramer. The much elusive Academy award finally caught up with him for this role. Hoffman’s fifth nomination came for Tootsie where he dressed as a woman to land a role. Hoffman received a Tony Award for playing the lead in Miller’s Death of a Salesman in 1985, a role that also won him a Golden Globe too.

Hoffman fans best remember him for his brilliant act as an autistic man in Rain Man alongside Tom Cruise. Predictably, he won his second Oscar for the role. In the 90’s Hoffman played Captain Hook in Spielberg’s Hook earning a Golden Globe nomination. It was later in the decade that Hoffman got seriously involved in the filming of American Buffalo, winning another Oscar nomination for Wag The Dog the same time. Dustin got a chance to act alongside Gene Hackman in Runaway Jury and a favorite actor of his Andy Garcia in The Lost City. Hoffman also did the voice over for Kung Fu Panda sharing a great rapport with co-star Jack Black. Hoffman was also nominated for a Golden Globe award for playing Harvey Shine in Last Chance Harvey.

Rolex GMT-Master II

The actor is a political liberal and has long supported the Democratic Party. Married to attorney Lisa Gottsegen and father to children and grandchildren who have had their bar mitzvahs, the actor has decided to be a practicing Jew now that he is getting older.

The GMT Master is a hero amongst Rolex watches because besides offering a timeless experience to its wearer the watch also comes with an independent 12 hour hand so you can keep a tab on a second time zone. The watch is extremely accessible to the user as it is self wound and is also waterproof to 100 meters. However, it is the design of the watch that arrests your attention the most. It is a brilliant combination of steel and yellow gold and the rotatable bezel in black offsets the black dial against it very effectively. The watch thrusts a heroic ability into its wearer for him to always want to make things good around him. The chunky 40 mm dial commands respect and the GMT Master knows that like Dustin Hoffman a stellar performance goes a long way in gaining that respect from people.
