Mayor Of Speedweeks – King Of The Rolex 24 At Daytona

Daytona International Speedway has been the playground for the Rolex 24 At Daytona for quite some time now. The speedway now wants to give an opportunity to one lucky fan who will be made Mayor of Speedweeks 2010 and turn the Speedweeks into his or her playground. The Mayor will get to enjoy perks that most sports car racing enthusiasts may have only dreamt of their entire life. The contest would run from December 15, 2009 to January 8, 2010. All the fans have to do is answer one simple question in 100 words or less, put up by the Daytona officials, which is “Why I Should Be Mayor of Speedweeks 2010”. In all fairness the top three entries would be selected by the designated Daytona International Speedway officials and posted on Facebook for fans to vote. Fans can then vote for the entry they think does most to be deserved to be elected as Mayor. The entry with the most votes would automatically win the opportunity of a lifetime.
The Daytona International Speedway along with Rolex 24 At Daytona have always thought of innovative ideas to make the events as fan-friendly as possible. The election of a Mayor of Speedweeks 2010 is the ultimate opportunity for any fan to be the king of the three of the most exciting weeks of sports car racing. The elected fan would preside as Mayor over the Speedweeks 2010 as well as the 52nd annual Daytona 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. The perks of the job would include two tickets for the lucky fan to all the Speedweek races. The Mayor will also get to be a part of the Daytona 500 Gatorade Victory Lane celebrations along with officially kicking off the Speedweeks at the Rolex 24 At Daytona practice sessions.
The privileges would continue for the fan with Pre-Race/Sprint FANZONE access for the Daytona 500 which would be in association with Black Crow Broadcasting. As Mayor the fan will also get the opportunity to participate in Speedweeks 2010 opening ceremonies to be held at the Rolex 24 At Daytona practice. For hard-core Rolex 24 At Daytona fans the perks only get better as the lucky person will get to wave the flag at the Rolex 24 At Daytona practice session which would officially mark the beginning of the Speedweeks. Along with doing the honor of the flag-off, the fan will also get to be the honorary judge at one of the world’s most literally spiced competitions, which is the Rolex 24 At Daytona Chili Cook-off competition. Some other perks for the lucky “Mayor” include attendance at the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Driver’s Meeting and the announcement of his or her name as the Mayor of Speedweeks 2010 at the pre-race stage during the pre-race ceremonies of the NextEra Energy Resources 250. Fans have the option to drop in their essays online or pick up and drop off their entry at the Guest Services located at Daytona 500 Experience. The essay is the only window of opportunity for all fans and with voting open to fans on Facebook, it has been ensured by the Daytona International Speedway officials to keep the contest as transparent as possible.
