Jack Welch And The Rolex Day Date President; Winning All The Way

Jack Welch

Nothing succeeds like success! Success has its own rewards in the form of money, power and fame; it is the driving force for all super achievers who want to give and receive the best life has to offer. Similarly, the unprecedented success that Rolex watches have got is not a coincidence but a result of sheer hard work, dedication and consistent efforts and like all good things in life it did not come cheap; it took hundred years of consistent skills to reach this pinnacle of glory. It is these men and women who stand heads and shoulders above the rest whose success becomes the stuff of legends. It is the same with the Rolex Day Date President men’s watch.

There is an interesting anecdote related with why the watch is called a “President”. The reason is that President Eisenhower was gifted a Rolex to honor his re-election and since then this high-end, luxurious watch has adorned the wrists of many leading celebrities, presidents, business magnets and high-flying achievers the world over. Just like any other Rolex creation, the Rolex Day Date President beautifully amalgamates the skill of watch making with the craft of fine body encasing to produce a winning combination.

The Rolex Day Date President looks rich and distinguished, its affluence is enhanced by the bead set bezel and diamond studded bracelet and is the most expensive and sought-after luxury watch in the men’s watch range. Every Rolex inspires other watches to raise their bar and give their best to whatever they do. Similarly, men of Jack Welch’s stature motivate everyone to aim higher and achieve more in this world.

Rolex Day Date President
Dr. John Francis “Jack” Welch, Jr., PhD was born to John and Grace Welch in Salem, Massachusetts on November 19, 1935 and is remembered as the most charismatic and flamboyant Chairman and CEO of General Electric (GE) between 1981 and 2001 a term of 21 years. Over the years, the Rolex Day Date President has become synonymous with power and royalty and stands as a symbol of supreme achievement. The watch is highlighted by the fact that it is available in a mind-boggling number of different displayed languages, 26 to be precise. It is the maximum number in which the display of the day and date is available in any watch in any other brand. Apart from that it has a self winding mechanism that requires no mechanical intervention. Michelle Wie Wins Maiden LPGA Tour To Join The Ranks Of Six Rolex First Time Winners

Michelle Wie With Trophy at Lorena Ochoa InvitationalThe only significant victory that Michelle Wie had to her credit until Sunday was her win at the 2003 USGA Women’s Amateur Public Links. The Stanford student recorded her first professional victory at the Lorena Ochoa Invitational on the 15th of November. Her win at the LPGA Tour made her the sixth Rolex First Time Winner of the Year and raised her Rolex Rankings by three spots and helped her crack into the top 15. Michelle Wie is currently on number 12 on the Rolex Rankings with a total of 210.30 points in 27 events. The Rolex Rankings are updated each week and are sanctioned by the five major women’s professional golf tours. Rolex Rankings are for female golfers and are based upon the same principles as the ranking for their male counterparts.

Rolex makes an effort to recognize the best talent in the world of sports by sponsoring and supporting various sports competitions. The Rolex First Time Winner of the Year and Rolex Rankings are some of the ways adopted by Rolex to honor the winners and achievers on the LPGA tour. The Rolex Rankings were in fact established as an effort to credit female golfers as well as male golfers and recognize their achievements by weekly updating points and ranks. Rolex lends its name and support to sports like sports car racing, eventing and sailing besides golf and junior golf. Rolex’s main aim is to promote human excellence and highlight the achievements of sportspersons who push themselves to outperform everyone at each competition. Participants not only look forward to competing at these prestigious events but also aim for the reward which usually is a cash prize accompanied by a Rolex timepiece.

Winning first place in the LPGA Tournament earned Michelle Wie prize money of Michelle Wei $220,000. The win came after a long wait for Michelle Wie as this was her 18th tournament as a member. With this achievement Michelle Wie is the fifth American winner on Tour this season and also joins six other Rolex First-Time winners. A 30-yard sand shot to one foot on the 72nd hole for abirdie brought about the accomplishment for the 20 year old talent. With birdies on hole one and three, Michelle Wie made a strong start for the day. She made a recovery from a three-putt bogey on hole five by smashing a 15-foot birdie on the seventh hole that made her turn the day at 2-under. She managed an outright lead by swinging another birdie at hole eleven.

The scenario turned extremely interesting as Michelle Wie approached hole 12. She knocked her drive on the cart path for which she was given relief. Her second shot set her back 50 yards when it caromed off a tree. While she strived for a bogey, she got some relief and a boost when Creamer bogeyed at 14 and 17. Soon after Cristie Kerr, who was leading along with Michelle Wie early in the back nine, bogeyed at 15 and 16. With Cristie Kerr and Creamer dropping out of the hunt Michelle Wie could picture victory. She sealed her position when she put her 5-wood into the front left bunker at 18 and tapped in range for a birdie. Michelle Wie is a student at Stanford University and has managed eight top ten finishes for the season. She has also had 18 starts in this season and tops it all with Rolex First Time Winner of the Year honor.

The Rolex Lady Datejust Pearlmaster And Cher; Unconventional Success

CherWhat works for one watch in terms of the design and machinery may not work for another, therefore the need of the hour has always been to look away from conventional methods of making watches to new and innovative ones. Just like Rolex does; it goes beyond accepted norms to instinctively put in newer mechanisms and amazing additions. Rolex watches come across as extremely efficient systems of time; they greatly understand the feel and want of their patrons and keep on innovating to suit particular needs. Rolex is not stuck with the traditionally experienced philosophy but tries to blend in the modern with the classic. The idea of unconventionality drives the Rolex watch making experience to a different level of expertise; something that other luxury watch making brands have not tried. Through their constant innovation and sheer dint of dedication, Rolex has reached a place of pride which other luxury watch brands cannot even begin to dream about. The Rolex Lady Datejust Pearlmaster is a watch that is extremely unconventional and yet classically Rolex in every way possible. Just like the watch Cher is an American singer, actress and performer who has lived her life on her own terms and is the epitome of unconventionality in life. In a Poll in 2007 Cher was voted as the third most favorite actress of all times besides Katherine and Audrey Hepburn.

In 1982 Cher won the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress for the movie Come Back to the Five and Dime. The next year Cher again won the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress. She has two Academy Award nominations to her credit and has also won the BAFTA award as well. Her song “If I Could Turn Back Time” was a platinum hit reaching the top spot in Australia, USA, UK and Canada.

Rolex Lady Datejust PearlmasterThe Rolex Lady Datejust Pearlmaster belies the 29mm of its size to come across a real winner of a watch. Although its size is diminutive yet the certified chronometer has a diamond and platinum finish that not many watches can call their own. The bracelet of the watch is a President that is very nicely set with brilliants, the self winding movement of the watch adding to the effect that the watch can pack quite a punch within itself. The watch creates an aura of excellence with its look and internal mechanism. The Rolex Datejust Pearlmaster is an opulent yet sophisticated watch which has a sporty design and a chic feminine look to it. The Roman numerals are beautifully etched in gold highlighting the luminous mother of pearl dial and the graceful gold hands add to its pristine beauty. With a seamlessly integrated gold and diamond bracelet and a Cyclops magnifier; the Rolex Lady Datejust Pearlmaster is the pinnacle of classy, feminine style, undeniably luxurious and stylish.

The white mother-of-pearl finish of the dial of the watch has a dazzling effect and adding to its glory is the brilliants that shimmer around the bezel of the watch. The Rolex Lady Datejust Pearlmaster is water proof up to 330 feet and is extremely streamlined in the sapphire that crystallizes the watch. The Rolex Lady Datejust Pearlmaster is also made available to watch wearers in other combinations that include a steel and gold combination, a white and an Everose gold combination because like Cher, this watch too believes in the unconventionality of things.

Genny Tulloch’s Remarkable Finish At Rolex Sponsored 2009 U.S. Women’s Match Racing Championship

Allegra Knapp Mertz Trophy

US Sailing Team AlphaGraphics member Genny Tulloch utilized the light winds to her advantage on the last day of the 2009 U.S. Women’s Match Racing Championship. The final day of the championship was hosted by the St. Thomas Yacht Club and was sailed in Cowpet Bay. Genny Tulloch was accompanied by her crew that included Chafee Emory from Newport, Rhode Island, Elizabeth Hall from Chevy Chase, Maryland and Elizabeth Kratzig from Miami Beach, Florida. The 2009 U.S. Women’s Match Racing Championship is a competition amongst the finest female sailors for the Allegra Knapp Mertz Trophy. The championship that is sponsored by Rolex Watch U.S.A. was witness to a competition between twenty-eight sailors.

Rolex has been associating with various sporting competitions in order to promote human brilliance. Rolex has sponsored a host of sports competitions for over three decades. It has supported sports like golf, junior golf, eventing, sailing and sports car racing. Rolex timepieces are considered a symbol of luxury and long-term quality performance. The precision represented by Rolex timepieces is what Rolex aspires to bring forth on the competition grounds through sportspersons. The competitors in Rolex sponsored events are the best in the world. Rolex provides a common platform for a world-class competition where not only veterans get to test their abilities but also fresh talent is welcome to prove itself to the world. Along with recognition, Rolex appropriately rewards its participants by including exclusive Rolex timepieces as prizes for the winners.

Anna Tunnicliffe and crew of Molly O’Bryan Vandemoer from Redwood City, California, Liz Bower from Rochester, New York and Alice Manard from Charleston, South Carolina were dominating the championship for the first three days until fellow

Team Tulloch

U.S. Sailing Team AlphaGraphics member Genny Tulloch upset her. The two semi-final matches and the final four matches were sailed under shifty conditions with winds barely reaching six knots. Anna Tunnicliffe defeated Annie Gardner-Nelson of San Diego, California in three matches in the semi-finals. Genny Tulloch bested Katie Pilley-Lovell of New Orleans in three matches for a face off in the finals with Anna Tunnicliffe. Anna Tunnicliffe’s team went 3-0 against Genny Tulloch’s team in the first three round robin matches.

Genny Tulloch proved stiff competition in the finals as her team won the first and third match. Anna Tunnicliffe won the second match leaving no choice but for Genny Tulloch to win the fourth match, which she did. Anna Tunnicliffe was leading the start but later a split of tacks made her lose ground to Genny Tulloch as the she got brisker breeze. The two competed with each other for the lead until the very end and the audience saw leads being changed quite frequently. Both teams jibed towards the finish; however, Genny Tulloch came out of the jibe due to better boat speed and held the lead to the finish line. The light winds favored Genny Tulloch’s team as it was lighter than Anna Tunnicliffe’s team. The win for Genny Tulloch was exceptionally rewarding as she lost to Anna Tunnicliffe last year in the finals of the U.S. Women’s Match Racing Championship.
