New York Yacht Club Wins Rolex Sponsored US Offshore Sailing Championship

New York Yacht Club

Rolex has a proven tradition of promoting excellence and brilliance by sponsoring regattas, and New York Yacht Club also has a tradition of winning many of those regattas. This interesting aspect of history was replayed once again as the US Offshore Sailing Championship came to a close and NYYC once again managed to win the top spot. The 2009 US Offshore Sailing Championship was a closely contested regatta and all along it seemed like anyone’s championship. But in the end it was the New York Yacht Club team that managed to outrace other sailors to be crowned the 2009 US Offshore Sailing Championship winner.

The other interesting aspect of the 2009 US Offshore Sailing Championship was the fact that entering the last race of the event there were as much as six different teams each of which practically had a chance of winning the championship. In fact the last day of racing was expected to be very intriguing and closely contested. The close contest can be gauged from the fact that NYYC which was the eventual winner had to score two top finishes even on the last day to get its hands on the prestigious trophy. And in the end it was great day for the New York Yacht Club and helped it keep its habit of ensuring amazing results in the Rolex sponsored events.

When the 2009 US Offshore Sailing Championship reached the final day of this year’s regatta the Davis Island Yacht Club was the team heading the points table. Mike Gable the skipper of the Davis Island Yacht Club yacht tried real hard but could not sustain with the top level performance and the championship eventually slipped out of his hands on Sunday. In fact the way the day was on Sunday it had become obvious that this year’s championship would be contested to the last race and that is precisely what happened.

New York Yacht Club

The weather was quite challenging and there was low pressure as well as cold front around the course. But fortunately southwesterly wind was blowing at 7 to 9 knots to help the sailors and the races get into motion. There were two races left on the final day and both of which involved a lot of drama and excitement. The first race was won by the Navy team managed by Jason Mazzoni and in a very interesting manner with many arguments and red flags. Bruce Kurlya and his team of New York Yacht Club came third behind Norm Dawley Southern Maryland Sailing Association but a critical protest resulted in Norm Dawley’s disqualification.

With six teams having a chance of winning the 2009 US Offshore Sailing Championship at the start of last race it all came down to the last moments of the championship. The race was won by Di Mattia and Hingham Yacht Club and Bruce Kuryla again finished second which was good enough to get them the championship. The most interesting thing about the 2009 US Offshore Sailing Championship was the fact that the team that won the championship didn’t win even a single race.

Jim Mitchell’s Vincitore Becomes Rolex US-IRC National Champion

Jim Mitchell’s Vincitore

2009 turned out to be the most memorable year for Jim Mitchell and his yacht Vincitore as he was named the Rolex US-IRC national champion. Every regatta, every win and every award has its own significance and every sailor takes pride in being associated with and in winning any of these. Among all these achievements the most prestigious win is to be crowned Rolex US-IRC national champion and it is not at all surprising that every eligible sailor has an eye on the title throughout the year. Though every win is important and involves a lot of hard work and skills, yet to perform consistently at the top throughout the year is a near impossible task but a must for anyone who has any intentions of wining the most coveted award of the year, the Rolex US-IRC national champion. Similarly, it was not an easy task for Jim Mitchell but he managed to do just that in 2009 and became the holder of the immensely popular trophy.

For Rolex it has been a way of doing things to be involved in promoting human excellence and human endurance and Rolex always believes in prompting such opportunities in every field possible. Its involvement with the world of sailing is quite old now and it has been involved at various levels in promoting the sailors, sailing and sailing events. In fact the role that Rolex has been playing is duly respected by the sailors and the entire sailing community as becomes evident from the kind of prestige that is attached to the events Rolex is involved with and the extra hard work sailors put in getting their efforts recognized by performing their best in winning Rolex sponsored events and awards. In the impressive list of awards that Rolex offers to the best sailors the one that ranks among the best is the Rolex US-IRC national champion. Winning it is one of the core aims of every sailor who is ready to give his best while riding those waves to ensure that at the end of year he can be the winner and get crowned Rolex US-IRC national champion.

Rolex

The year 2009 had some of the best sailors in the history of sailing vying for the top honors and the competition was one of the most competitive ever which made it very difficult for anyone to be sure of winning the Rolex US-IRC national champion. But it is also the time when the best sailors get the time to showcase their talent and come out top. That is precisely what Jim Mitchell ensured while sailing to multiple wins and consistent performances in the year 2009. His wins in 2009 included 2009 International Rolex Regatta (St Thomas), 2009 Nanny Cay Cup, 2009 BVI Spring Regatta, 2009 Chicago Mackinac Race, 2009 Bayview Mackinac Race and finally 2009 Rolex Big Boat Series. With so many wins there is no doubt about the fact that it was a year that belonged to Jim Mitchell and his crew who truly deserved to win the Rolex US-IRC national champion.

Jared Padalecki And Rolex Deepsea Are Supernaturally Brilliant

jared-padaleckiRolex watches are the kind of timepieces that can master the art of timekeeping in a manner that is not only supernatural but also bears with it a lot of conviction in terms of delivering the most accurate of timings. Rolex is a name in the industry that has created a niche that is almost without competition from the rest of the watch market. What is however important to understand is the fact that Rolex watches can claim a supremacy that they also back with a lot of craft and attention that go into making their watches timeless masterpieces. Rolex has had a lot of obstacles to deal with on its way to reaching where it has got today, but it has separated those obstacles from a determination to excel and this is what lends to these watches the supernatural element. Not only are Rolex watches delivered as a package that is unsurpassable but the time that they offer to the wearers is one that is most perfected in accuracy. The supernatural element of the Rolex watch is what makes it better than the best and when Rolex goes into the domain of delivering a spirit of greatness to people who are important for it leaves no stone unturned. The Rolex Deepsea borrows from the Rolex tradition and what it does more often than not is to cater to people who are usually sea divers and require that their watch display precise time at all hours and at all places no matter how deep in the sea it is.

Jared Padalecki started his career with a minor role in the film A Little Inside going on to play a character role in the popular television series Gilmore Girls. He has also lent his acting credits to films like New York Minute, House of Wax. He also appeared in several films for television, some of which were Silent Witness, A Ring of Endless Light and Close to Home. The actor was cast to play the role of Sam Winchester in the WB series Supernatural. His recent venture that saw a mega release this year is the film Friday the 13th. The actor continues with his lead in Supernatural while pursuing other interesting projects.

Rolex DeepSea

The Rolex Deepsea as a superlative chronometer carries with it the obvious assumption that the watch has been certified because it can deliver the truth of time. The bracelet of the watch is an Oyster Fliplock that also comes with a Rolex Glidelock clasp and the watch is self wound to keep the looking after the watch process to the minimum. The watch is also waterproof to an amazing and almost supernatural depth of 12,800 feet. Crystallized in sapphire, the Rolex Deepsea carries a size of 44mm around with a lot of character. The steel material of the watch is almost a must for lending the element of efficiency to this extremely stylish watch. The black dial of the watch completes the look of the watch that also sports a unidirectional rotatable bezel that allows one to check decompression times always. The most special aspect of the Rolex Deepsea is the revolutionary Ring Lock system that it incorporates in it. This is a very inventive example of case architecture and allows the watch and its internal mechanism to withstand water pressure at the most extreme of water depths. There is also a helium escape valve that withstands decompression and like Jared Padalecki the Rolex Deepsea delivers a brilliance that is almost supernatural.

A Mélange To Celebrate Pre Rolex Kentucky Derby Festivities

Rolex Logo

The Rolex Kentucky Derby may be a three day event but like all celebrations that involve a crowd of enthusiasts who look forward to this annual event with a fervor that reflects the spirit of the game and the passionate endeavor of Rolex to associate with such events, this celebration too extends its festivities beyond the main event. There is build up to the event and there is a follow up and in between the Rolex sponsored derby rests knowing that a crowd pulling streak thanks to the Rolex association is something that the event will never miss.

The Sponsor Village one of whom is the Rolex brand name in watches and the International Trade Fair come together to build a crescendo amongst Derby lovers and enthusiasts from all around the world and especially England. There is a coming together of cultures, traditions, techniques and most importantly much joy for the sport. The opportunities that the event before the event creates are one that Derby enthusiasts would seldom miss.

Breaking stereotypes that a Derby fair will only exhibit horse related items is a misconception. The Rolex sponsored Derby’s fair also reflects the Rolex brand name in commitment to the watches that it creates for its customers. For Rolex watch making is beyond capturing time in a mechanism, bedecking it with jewels and then putting it on to display for the world to see and wear only if their fortunes allow it. For Rolex watches are a creation, individual detailing going into each and every watch that comes from the house.

The only routine that several separate Rolex watches will display is the fact that they will always carry Rolex’s priority to passionately bond accuracy with design. The Rolex Kentucky Derby excites a similar enthusiasm. Every year witnesses the coming and going of new horses with their jockeys, but the one thing that stands by everything changing is the fact that the Rolex sponsored Derby for anyone is not just a race to win but to enjoy in its totality.

The fair trades in accessories related to riding from sports clothing, to head and foot gear.
Rolex Trade FairMost of the things on display are created by designers and extremely exclusive in the experience that they promise to offer. The fair has something for everyone, from paintings, sculptures, crafts and jewelry to gift items and souvenirs that you can carry back home to hold nice memories from the event with you forever.

The fair is an occasion that runs parallel to the Derby transferring the enthusiasm from the field on to the stalls. Both Trade Fair merchants and Corporate Sponsors put up their stalls here and range from home furnishings to import and export houses. The stalls are in the collective, a one stop shop for all your requirements.

The dates for the much annual fair have been announced and they are to be held in the last week of April, 2010. As of now, a total number of 175 merchants have signed up for the event and the excitement from both participants and spectators is already palpable.

Team USA In 2010 Rolex Commodore’s Cup?

2010 Rolex Commodore’s Cup

Schedule for the 2010 Rolex Commodore’s Cup had been announced sometime back and one question that has come up since then has been as to who all are going to be a part of the crew which will represent USA. 2010 Rolex Commodore’s Cup is going to be the number one regatta of the next year and participation in that is nothing short of realization of long cherished dream for the best sailors. And to become a part of the team which has won the championship in past is an honor which every American sailor hopes for. As the time draws nearer for the Team USA to be constituted a lot of excitement has been building up. So far two well known sailors Bill Heston and Steve Travis have shown their inclination to become a part of the team which will be representing USA in the prestigious 2010 Rolex Commodore’s Cup.

USA in fact is a two time past champion of the Rolex Commodore’s Cup and would be trying to win it for the third time in August 2010. The first time USA won the Rolex Commodore’s Cup happened in the year 1992. That was a memorable win and the best thing was that when the championship returned after two years it was once again the team for USA that went on to win the trophy. But due to one reason or the other since then there have not been any more victories for USA. The hope of sailing enthusiasts including the crews and the fans have risen once again that a formidable team to represent UAS would be formed this time and next year the team would get a realistic shot at one of the most prestigious regattas, 2010 Rolex Commodore’s Cup.

2010 Rolex Commodore’s Cup

The 2010 Rolex Commodore’s Cup would be held next year in the month of August from the 15th to the 21st, 2010. The world famous regatta is being organized by the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC) and is to be held in Cowes in the Isle of Wright. The almost a weeklong affair is surely going to attract the best sailors and would give a chance to the team from USA to perform and come out at top. What makes the 2010 Rolex Commodore’s Cup most awaited event for the sailors from all across the world includes different reasons and factors.

For the American sailors it is going to be a place to showcase their talent, experience and ability to win under difficult conditions and under varied formats. And the unique feature of the 2010 Rolex Commodore’s Cup is going to be the composition of the crews. The crews will consist of professional as well as amateur sailors. The percentage or number of professionals varies from class to class and is also an important factor in the inshore/offshore courses. Overall the format to be followed in the 2010 Rolex Commodore’s Cup regatta is going to be more or less similar to the year 2008 and it would be interesting to see how the team to represent USA shapes up and performs next year.

Rolex Sponsored US Men’s And Women’s Sailing Championships End In Anticlimax

Rolex

The prestigious four day Rolex sponsored US Men’s And Women’s Sailing Championships was a great opportunity for the sailors to come out with best preparation and ride the waves to come out on top. The first three days saw high competition and closely fought races but weather gods played spoilsport on the fourth day with the entire day being washed out. But even the anticlimax could not take away the sheen out of the US Men’s And Women’s Sailing Championships which has close association with the best watchmaker in the world, Rolex.

The fourth day of the US Men’s And Women’s Sailing Championships didn’t begin on a high note with the rain and the accompanying lack of wind. There were some speculations as to whether there would be any races or not but finally in the afternoon the announcement was made regarding the championship. The last day of the regatta was called off and it was decided that the results till the third day would be treated as the final result. The announcement expectedly led to mixed reactions and meant that 2009 US Men’s And Women’s Sailing Championships would have two new winners.

The husband-wife duo of Ken Kleinschrodt and Amy Kleinschrodt had made a rocking start to the US Men’s And Women’s Sailing Championships and it had looked like the Rolex promoted event would see the duo emerge as champions. Though Amy Kleinschrodt was able to continue with her remarkable performances Ken Kleinschrodt could not really live up to the initial hype. Eventually the Buccaneer Yacht Club had to content with one champion only.

A total of 16 points put Amy Kleinschrodt and her yacht Buccaneer Yacht Club on the top of the table in US Women’s Sailing Championship. Throughout the regatta she and her crew were able to come out as the most consistent performer to score a place in the top three in every race. Her efforts have won her the Mrs. Charles Francis Adams Trophy. For Amy Kleinschrodt and her crew of Sara Hall and Ashley Hall the win was sweeter as is got her the Sperry Top-Sider grant which will go towards her entry fee for US Sailing’s Bay-Waveland Yacht ClubRolex International Women’s Keelboat championship which will be held next month in Rochester, New York.
She was followed by Natalie Coleman-Fuller in her Cathman Y.C. who managed 22 points and three wins. Her wins are same in number as Amy Kleinschrodt’s except she had couple of bad races which worked for her disadvantage.

The US Men’s Sailing Championship saw Andrew Eagan winning quite handsomely by scoring 15 points. In his efforts Andrew Eagan was supported by the crew of Bay-Waveland YC which included Charlotte Santa Cruz and his brother Marcus Eagan. For this achievement in the Rolex sponsored event Andrew Eagan was presented with the Charles D. Mallory Trophy and also the Sperry Top-Sider grant which will the entry fee for any NOOD regatta that he would want to participate in.

The three days of races at the US Men’s And Women’s Sailing Championships quite clearly showcased the values that Rolex stands for.

Jaime Pressl And Rolex Lady Datejust Can Be Different

Jaime Pressl

Rolex has many qualities which are quintessential hallmarks of one of the most loved brands in the entire world. Every watch that Rolex has ever launched has been able to create a niche for itself for offering Rolex users something unusual and something extraordinary. From the house of Rolex one of the most popular watches is Rolex Lady Datejust which has been around for a long time to have established itself as something that anyone would feel proud to be an owner of. Among the multitudes of characteristics that have set Rolex Lady Datejust apart is its ability to be different and different even among the best. And interestingly this is not something that is exclusive to the field of watch making. In fact the world of showbiz and entertainment thrives on the ability of the performers to offer something anew, in being different. But that doesn’t mean that they all can actually do it. But that also doesn’t mean that no has been able to do it. Take for example Jaime Pressl who in a comparatively short career so far has quite comfortably demonstrated that just like the Rolex Lady Datejust she knows how to be different. The American actress as well model has through her roles in sitcoms like My Name Is Earl and movies like Dead Or Alive shown it time and again that being different is what she is best at. In fact for the Rolex Lady Datejust as well as Jaime Pressl being different has never been an issue rather it has been a source of strength.

There are many reasons that make Rolex Lady Datejust a watch different than anything else you would see in the world of watches. The watch is unmatched for when it comes to looks and appearance. Lady DatejustThe latest Rolex Lady Datejust has in fact been made far more appealing by providing smoother lines as well as by introducing substantially enhanced dial. The watch has been certified as a chronometer to give it a stamp of authority. The watch has a size of 26mm and features a silver concentric dial. The dial is surrounded by a doomed bezel which gives the watch an extra edge as far as looks are concerned.

In case you would like to have more choices then the Rolex Lady Datejust is being offered with two options, one which is available in steel and the other one which is offered in a combination of steel and 18ct white gold. Further the watch has been made more user-friendly and more useful to the people who love adventure especially the ones who would love diving by making it water resistant to the depths of 100m. The watch supports self-winding capabilities and looks even more impressive when one tries to look at the date display. To ensure that the user can comfortably take a look at the date on the dial a Cyclops magnifier has been provided which facilitates easy viewing of the date calendar. All these features taken individually or collectively ensure that Rolex Lady Datejust can always stand on its own and be different something that Jaime Pressl owes all her success and popularity to.
